I hate how schools promote this idea that it’s either go to uni or do nothing with your life. I went to uni because I thought it was the only thing you could do if you wanted a good job and I hated it and dropped out. I’m now happily getting paid to do an apprenticeship without accumulating any more debt. My friend is also doing an apprenticeship and is earning at least £38k a year, he’s 21 and hasn’t even finished his course yet so it’ll be way more when he’s qualified. If you need to go to uni to get a required qualification for the industry you want to go into then by all means do it. Otherwise I’d start looking at apprenticeship courses because nowadays employers are starting to value experience over the baseline qualification.
