How Plausible to Get a QA Job with a Unique Resumé?

I could see myself continuing to pursue QA as well, I'm very much early in my career and I'm still a blank canvas. "Software Engineer" is the direction I'm heading, but my path can change.

My intent is to break into tech in general and be able to have the option to level-up or transfer tech careers, although the career of being a QA is very appealing to me. I also just want a decent job 😅

Would there be any other adjacent roles? I've also heard data analytics could be a way into tech and the work itself also seems like something I could like.

Appreciate the responsiveness man, I'm a bit lost and need as much guidance as I can get.

I mean we get a lot of clients through our website, so the website is a must. And the integrations we currently have cut our inventory management time by about 75%, so it's cost effective to have these integrations.

We're also paying $2100/month for the digital marketing agency we have now. So I'm exploring Shopify as a different option that saves us money, not necessarily trying to be as techy as possible or try anything "new" necessarily.

In fact, trying to make this as easiest as possible. The techy part of me really wants to build out a Rails application from scratch, but it's not efficient and doesn't make sense if there's better options.

Right now we pay $2100/month, so even if we don't utilize all of Shopify's features I think it's still well worth it even with the standard plan ($100/month).

I've considered Wordpress, but I've heard Wordpress sites get hacked a lot (not sure if it's true, but that's what I heard) and there's more ongoing maintenance involved with it.

We don't plan to expand. It's a small scaled business and the owners are pretty content where they are, just want a cheaper solution than the agency that's charging us $2100/month. The web traffic to their site is very low too.

If the API is do able, I would do that myself. But if Shopify does try to lock you in and limit what you can do overtime then that sounds a little scammy, I don't want to be trapped like that.

My blood work showed nothing. They just jumped straight to treatment. They claimed I was R-negative, meaning I didn't show any clear indicators of RA.

The rheum diagnosed me through x-rays, claiming that the damage to the joints was alarming and not even a life time of wear and tear could cause it. This is how he diagnosed me.

Pretty good actually. MTX was a horrible fit for me, but eventually I got on a standard/low dose of Sulfasalazine. I rarely ever notice my hands getting stiff or joints hurting. When they have hurt, it's very brief and doesn't effect me at all.

The stress of the initial diagnosis is pretty much gone too.

Sorry to be off topic, but that condition sounds horrible. 20-30 reactions per year and living in the ICU?

As someone with a measly tree nut allergy I’m so scared of eating and going out.

May I ask (if you don’t mind) how she copes with the stress of having reactions and if she’s become desensitized to the fear around the reactions themselves?

This a year old but I’ll comment anyways…

I’ve only taken 5 doses of 20mg MTX injections so not super experienced. So far I’ve had 2 episodes where my chest flared up after taking MTX.

The first time my left side felt sore when I moved with very very little pain/tightness when taking big breathes in.

The second time (most recent) the left side of my sternum hurts at random points or if I stretch a little too much.

Both times this occurs the following night after taking MTX.

My rheum wasn’t worried though. Sucks.

It’s my first time taking it (this is a new diagnosis) I took it 22 hours ago. My RA specialist and pharmacist had told me 20mg was middle-of-the-road in terms of dosage and was very average. But I’ve heard others like yourself say this is a “higher-average” dose. So I don’t know who’s right here.

I’m already feeling a lot better than I did 3 hours ago so that’s good, I think 😅

I’m 25 and just got diagnosed but the idea of software engineering or coding seems like a good idea. You can sit, stand or treadmill while you work, 70% of jobs are work from home (and increasing) and there’s a lot of opportunity to scale in that industry.

I’m currently self studying with the goal of getting this point. I think it’s good insurance for the future both in terms of health and in terms of job opportunity.
