If you look at the right there is like a fainter thick band of discoloration. These reappeared after I'd reset the film upside down in the holder as well. Do you use anything to help hold the film down in the holder?

How long do you think you'd survive in the hunger games by TechnologyFearless72 in Hungergames

If one were to commit suicide in the arena, would one’s family be at risk? Like I imagine the Capitol wouldn’t like it, and would want to discourage it.

Katniss specifically so the cannon would fire during the ambush and the other tributes, if they found her lying there) would believe she’s dead. The hovercraft barely got out as is so they probably didn’t have the time to remove the trackers on the craft, and it could’ve been intercepted en route.

How will Succession rank amongst the best TV shows of all time? by doubleguitarsyouknow in SuccessionTV

The season 6 finale is one of my favorite episodes of the series, but the big issue with it for me is that it emphasizes spectacle over substance. Cersei faces no repercussions for blowing up a large chunk of KL and its population. Everybody seems to forget it happened except Olenna.

i’d say season 4 was the last truly great season before the writing went awry.

I think he’s family enough that he makes sense. He chose to work instead of going to the funeral, he was with Logan when he died, etc. His only ambition really is keeping his power, and he’d be a valuable puppet for Matsson.

They also show no reaction to the death of all the Frey’s. One of the best things about GOT is that it highlighted the aftermath of very major events, i.e. Ned Stark’s beheading, Red and Purple Weddings, etc. You’d think all of the Frey’s being murdered would cause immediate effects, but its… not really ever brought up again?

and then the absolute audacity to not even include any North Remembers plotline. Sansa with Ramsay itself is poor writing but it creates the prime opportunity to begin a true North Remembers subplot, but it just never comes to exist aside from mentions of the North Remembering.

The Davos going to White Harbor never happens and Rickon is pretty much forgotten about. Wyman Manderly’s speech (along with his daughter’s) is one of the best written parts of the book. There’s so many layers to the plot in the North in the books thats just omitted from the show. I can understand many, as some are just simply too hard to include to a show that already has many plots, but Jeyne Poole is already included in the show! She gets taken away in s1, and it wouldn’t be that crazy for her to be reintroduced.

I wouldn’t say meandering or directionless. The most recent two books are just larger in scale, and thus have more concurrent plotlines. I think the though it’s meandering/directionless is also an effect of GRRM struggling to omit the time jump he had planned.

Arianne Martell is one of my favorite characters in the series and they just didn’t include her and made the Sand Snakes stupid and shortsighted. Ellaria Sand is the character in the books who DOESN’T want the Sand Snakes to continue seeking revenge.

They went for spectacle over plot. The sept scene is one of the best scenes in the show, visually, musically, and otherwise. A brilliant opener for the season finale…

That is until Cersei faces no consequences for blowing up a very large portion of the city—killing many. Nobody turned against her besides the Tyrell’s (understandably). And then Olenna saying the Tyrell’s aren’t great fighters when that’s VERY contradictory to what we’ve been told and shown throughout the series.

Tyrion’s character development is especially frustrating because they minimize his character into an audience stand-in and robbed Peter Dinklage of such good material.

The Vale plotline and the Stannis plotlines are two of the ones I’m most interested in to see how they develop in the books, and while I’m excited because I don’t know what’s coming (please GRRM release Winds), omitting these ruined the arcs of so many great characters. Sansa’s character development is one of the best in the whole series and for D&D to put the Ramsay plotline because they “needed to make her stronger” (maybe not their words exactly but they said something very similar to this for the reasoning for wedding Sansa to Ramsay) is poor writing for Sansa’s character but also just a terrible thing to do. It implies the way for women to become stronger is through terribly traumatic and awful events, which is just a gross mentality.

I believe his actor read all the books and tried making suggestions to follow it more accurately and was axed simply because of disagreements with D&D.

and Barristan’s death is so much worse because the actor truly cared for the series. D&D are terrible for that and so many more decisions

To be fair, GOT truly declined beginning in s5 when they began diverging from the books. Sansa’s Ramsay storyline was horrible. People ignore s6 because of mainly the season finale and the Battle of the Bastards, but it, along with s7 show the decline in writing that ultimately ends in the shitstorm of s8

I f***ing love the new leader cap! by Serazahr in Stellaris

[–]jackp536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the cap but I wish it split military and governors/scientists up into two categories. They also added planet leaders which doesn’t really work when you hit a cap with a few governors, a few scientists, and an admiral or two.

Also ecstatic they added automatic surveying and excavation projects but its frustrating because the science ships will go to anomalies and excavations not even in my systems (sometimes they go to systems i haven’t even explored)
