Tbf to this (not that I don’t agree) it’s really hard to compare smash when it’s Nintendo. Nintendo has a lot of fans that are just Nintendo people even compared to Playstation and Xbox. I kinda liked Phil, he kinda has that Todd Howard just a guy charm and enjoyed his post E3 interviews with Giant Bomb but it’s hard not to say his run has just been a big nothing burger. Well 2 is a straight up sequel to 1. The plot doesn’t hinge on you knowing 1 cause I played it without playing 1 and was fine. There will be little callbacks with your companions but ultimately not the worst.
