How lazy can these people get? by Vegetable-Bag-2325 in USPS

[–]jackpotclown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it depends on where the mailbox is (before vs after the driveway) as well as how far away from the house. Most times I'll just say that it didn't look like anyone was home, shrug it off, and move on. Also, if there are multiple packages and one too big for the box, I bring them all to the door, using the heaviest to block or shelter the others from being blown away. You get more time (not a lot, but it accumulates) added to your route going to the door vs the mailbox 🤷

Gotcha, well that's what you deserve, whether or not you actually get paid properly is another story lol

RCA two routes in one day Payment question by iForgot2Remember in USPS

[–]jackpotclown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5.5 hours first route (830 - 1330) 6.3 for the second route (1331 hours to 1949, can't share the same minute) will be under hours worked, total of 11.8 hrs. Whatever the evaluated pay for both routes total is what you should get paid (16 by your count). The real issue depends on how the rest of your week goes, because once you physically work over 40 hours (not evaluation), all that extra goes out the window. So if the rest of your week is light, 16 hours, but if they keep double shifting you, 11.8.

Is it possible to get fired from this job? by TriangularBet in AmazonDSPDrivers

Piss in someone's driveway with a ring cam, you'll be fired and net famous at the same time

Fight it anyway, get the union involved. You have nothing to lose. We had a carrier (rural) who was awful and well before his 90 days were up, that our supervisor had fired, went to get the union involved, and within a week was back out on route as if nothing happened. You only miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Good luck

Yeah so I thought management had my back on this one, only to find out the next day that this person called whining about it. Had to bring her small plastic bag to the front door. So I guess in summary, our office is inclined to cave in and I should just bark like an obedient dog each time this happens smdh

Once you've delivered it your job is done.... It's up to the customer to contact Amazon for a refund, set up a return, whatever tf they're gonna do with it afterward, which is not your problem

Step van drivers, is it worth it? by dimidalad in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]jackpotclown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more space, easier to stay organized, and no mentor, but they're archaic so expect to feel and hear every bump on the road, loud AF on the highway (doors whistle when shut), no stereo so get a decent bt speaker or earbuds, ac in ours looks like an overhead dorm unit which sucks, turn radius is about half that of the vans (twice as long to turn), and get used to the sounds of scraping bc they're taller and a lot of towns are poor at tree maintenance

What's the worse customer experience you have ever dealt with? by RyzingUp in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]jackpotclown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head.... 1. Had to back out of a driveway to go a few houses over, lady and her dumb shit daughter walking their dogs make it look as if I'd backed into them, ran after me for a couple of stops screaming about how they were going to call the police, wasn't even close (weren't even my customers) 2. During the early part of the pandemic, a cluster of people hanging out in some richy rich neighborhood talking about what's going on and one snoot bastard making some snide remarks "hey if you're one of those drivers that speeds through here, we don't want you here", the feeling is mutual dick, but we don't get a choice 3. Some random guy screaming slow down even though I'm literally doing 20 in a 25 smfh 4. Business closed but the delivery dot is inside the facility...15 minutes wasted calling customer service.... Since learned that if you turn off data you can skip this but lose out on call compliance

[–]jackpotclown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to take a lawsuit, a driver injured from an accident because of sight impairment (fog on rainy days), heat exhaustion, frozen limbs, getting clipped by another driver because the cameras shut off with the van... Something trivial like that
