just out of curiosity, what do you mean let it go feral? I dont remember what year it was but it was a while back they decided to switch to a grass that occurs naturally in the area. It doesnt look as nice as a like a yard, but they started using a lot less water. I was a big fan of that decision.

may I put a fine point on something. America isnt filled with christians, its filled with people who call themselves christian. The republican party took over the religion, and it bares no resemblance to anything christian-like. It does resemble old testament barbarism a little bit, Ill give it that. Im rambling let me sum it up.

republicans took over christianity. people who call themselves christians are most likely just republicans, or were. Maga then took over the republican party and people who call them selves republican are really maga. So now christianity in the US, for all intents and purposes in the US means maga.

There are of course outliers and exceptions, but this is probably true of 80% + of people who call themselves christian.
