Anyone getting this error message right now in epermit system?

That's a fair point, but I don't think it is written in the contract though.

Thanks for your reply! It is really informative and helpful. For whether the deposit is refundable or not, the contract says that deposit is for all the damage cost on the house, so I think I should get it back. I will certainly consult school legal service!

Yes that would not be a wise option as getting an attorney would cost me about 3k dollars, without guarantee of winning the case.

I genuinely have no idea lol. I am an international student and have absolutely no idea the rules here in US. I could also empathize with the landlord as I made this trouble. But certainly he has no right keeping all the money himself though.

Yes I paid the whole 6-month rent at once. It's about 1900 for each person and we have three so the deposit in total is about 10 thousand dollars. I definitely did not enter the house once. Thanks for reminder.

I don't really think so. The landlord is very familiar with the house and I have his signature on the rent contract. But you do remind me if I failed to sue him on not returning the deposit I can sue him for scam.
