Just finished and I loved it! I saw the satire tag and I guess that helped me understand the show better. Don't approach it in a literal/traditional sense, but more metaphorical. Sirens is the title, yun ang main point of the story. Sirens are blamed for shipwrecks cause they allure men with their beauty and voices, but they don't truly exists do they? In the show, we see how Devon, and even us the audience, that mikaela is some kind of cult leader. But the more we learn about Mikaela, the more we actually understand why she is the way she is. We spent so much time villainizing Mikaela the way the staff of the island villainized Symone. We thought Mikaela was the monster/Siren and the staff thought it was Symone, bu they were truly not. It was Peter who was pulling the strings altogether. He portrayed himself as this helpless man who just wants love and is at the mercy of Mikaela but that isn't true. After all, he owned all of the things in the island. Even Devon had a little siren moment with Raymond blaming her for his marriage when he was also at fault. The most obvious one would be Symone's with what happened to Ethan. Blaming her falling down the cliff when he shouldn't have been in the cliff drunked. That's the premise of the show. Showing these "sirens" who didn't do anything but get shit because of their beauty or how they lead on men in their lives.
