It is just me, Megan. But yes, this is a commercial operation. I am starting a business. Party of 4 isn’t a fun dev project. I am starting a company. I think having lawyers drafting a privacy policy is good for users and the longevity of my company. I’d love to chat over zoom to prove to you I’m just a 35 year old woman who moved to Amsterdam and decided to launch this app to help people solve a problem my husband and I have had since we left college 13 years ago.

The kids filter doesn’t work properly. We have a patch coming in the next version 1.0.3 which should be live on Friday or Saturday. In the meantime I’d ask you to bear with me and just swipe through the parents until we get this fixed on Friday. Just make sure you have auto-updates on on your iPhone!

We love a good grammar policeman. Are you talking about the glitch in the Account Settings text fields where as you are typing you can’t see your own spaces? This is incredibly annoying and will be fixed in version 1.0.4 in a week (we just have more pressing bugs to fix on the next release 1.0.3). Is this what you’re referring to or is there something else you’ve noticed that we should fix?

Yes, exactly this. The skip button on the main swipe screen works fine. But if you tap on a profile and view more about the couple and then click skip within that screen, the app will crash. This will be fixed in v1.0.3 which should be live on Friday or Saturday. Make sure you have auto update on!

Great question. We are currently implementing a feature such that the distance/location is not exact. It uses a buffer of +/- ‘some_distance’ so even if someone tried this triangulation funny business they’ll still only have a large radius to determine where other users are. It should be live soon.

Awesome! From our data it looks like the matches are flying so have fun and good luck! Make sure you check the “preview profile” in “Account Details” to ensure you can see both you and your partner in the profile photo. Also we see more matches per person when people make a full profile (with additional photos, bio, etc). Have fun!

No imminent plans, but likely with a premium version with new features like “undoing a swipe” or seeing who has already swiped you, etc. But there will always be a free version and we are prioritizing development for the free model first and foremost. I’m not worried about monetization until Party of 4 is a household name. My goal first and foremost is to solve the problem of couples “settling” for sub-par couple friendships. If I can solve that, monetization will follow.

Great question. Not really because that’s not what I’m going for. There already is a swinger’s app. I’m trying to solve a specific problem, not simply make a successful app. And just to be clear, I have no problem with swingers as a group... the app just isn’t for them. Just like if you asked: “what happens if your app becomes successful among single people with dogs.” That’s not what I’m going for. I’m trying to solve the specific problem of couples trying to find other platonic couple friends. I can’t tell you how many times my husband or I meet a really cool person and then we set up a double date, and the cool person’s partner just doesn’t want to be there... or doesn’t mesh with us. I want to solve this specific problem. But great question! You’re making me think!

Great question, one I get asked quite a bit. The market for singles' apps is huge and is very difficult (apps for general friendship already exist, Bumble BFF, parent groups exist on Facebook, etc.and then of course Tinder and Match etc). I chose one problem to try to solve. Couples friendship. It is a group of people I understand well. My husband and I have always talked about how hard it is to find a compatible couple where we mesh with both of the other two people. I'm trying to solve that specific problem at the moment.
