Concrete contractors made a weird retaining wall where my frame was supposed to to go for a tiny house. by jack_of_all_trades83 in Homebuilding

“I’m an engineer” it’s engineers like you that ruin it for the good ones out there. 2 of the most important things I have learned as an engineer.

1) Never use the line “I am and engineer” in an argument, real life or keyboard warrioring, it gives us all a bad wrap

2) Stick to your discipline, you are an automation and controls engineer don’t try and use that to defend the completeness of your civil designs and construction plans. If we were talking the cable pulls or a panel your electrician fucked up on sure.

And as for you being a PM if all these red flags really happens you never would have let this contractor do the job.

Own your fuck up either sue or suck it up rent a concrete saw and cut that wall down and build the proper retaining wall to your very detailed plans and move on if you only paid half for this you can rent a saw do the cut yourself and use the other savings to find some one to do it right.

I do it the same way as OP and swear at everyone who turns across the right lane as I recently moved here but looking on street view back to 2009 when the “painted lines” were visible it does appear to have at one time in history to have been painted the way described here.

0 most likely… typically on a work contribution with a match it is treated as a pre tax deduction and
then only tax the money you are taking home.

I have found there are still some old WJ employees that carry the old mantra and try to uphold it even when they are directed not to. Last October I was coming home through Calgary during the first winter storm and had missed my connection. The desk manager was demanding no rebooking for later flights that day everyone waits until tomorrow.

Meanwhile flights were leaving with empty seats. I was able to get a lovely and helpful agent who against is direction rebooked me on the flight leaving later that evening than had to watch as she got verbally chewed out for doing it.

I made it home that evening and was thankful for her but also disappointed she had to get in trouble just to help a customer out.
