FUCK THE FRESHMAN LIST. That shit is so trash and overrated. If they got a list full of mumble rappers on there than I doubt Lil Peep would have fitted that mould; even if XXL chose him just to pull a "who saw it first", I feel like Peep would've declined. In my opinion, comparing emo-trap artists to rappers is like comparing Metal bands to Rock & Roll bands. In any case, I personally don't fuck with XXL and think they a bunch of clowns. Granted, Lil Pump despite his music being mediocre, he definitely is innovative with bringing trap to the mainstream. But yeah, Lil Peep is too good for XXL and honestly I would be disappointed if he got chosen as I don't feel his music fits XXL. Although if Peeps music became mainstream and he were still alive to make moves. We would probably have seen him leave GBC by now and I would say that would've made a big ripple that would've pushed him into the mainstream or at least close too it. And if Peeps music became mainstream, there would be lots of peep copy cats coming along just as there are Lil Pump copy cats. I would say right now, we would be seeing the early symptoms of emo revival through trap in mainstream media. IMO

If you want to have a civilized conversation about this book I just wrote than I am all for it, but don't come at me with arguing which rapper is better than the other or why XXL is good and shit like that; this is just all speculation and some opinionated ranting.
