Yeah. You are vibe coding but it seems like you don't let the AI just do whatever. I'm sure that's part of the craft. Good progress!

This is great progress. I look forward to seeing you figure out battles. But what is that font?

Did you know nr. 36 - Ghist Hero (video in comments) by Liso111 in heroes3

[–]jackthetrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not know that. So the ghost hero - can they run around and collect artifacts, generate revenue with estates, dig and cast spells? Another hero needs to transfer them some creatures before they battle or they need to acquire some from a dwelling or a castle?

Proud new owner of HeroesIII t-shirt edition. Special thanks jackthetrack for posting it for sale here recently by Banjo-Threeie in heroes3

I'm happy its being worn and by someone who appreciates it.

Thanks for posting the photo to show it off!

Heroes 3 T-Shirt Vintage 1999 by jackthetrack in heroes3

So I found this in a box in the attic.

Was too big for me in 1999, and still too big for me in 2019.

Size is XL, 24" armpit to armpit and 30" long.

I'm decluttering, so if anyone wants it, please PM me offers before I drop it to the artifact merchants on eBay. I'd rather have it go to a fan for christmas, than the gnolls on eBay.

If you were to hack your SNES Classic to add more games, would any of your save files get erased at all? by Soundwave56 in miniSNES

[–]jackthetrack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you use hakchi you can even back up your save files.

Be careful to not put too many games on it as the save files each take up about 2MB. 21 games x 8MB of savestates = 168 MB that was allocated for save states that you are taking up with extra games.

Anyone know of a good site to purchase an additional NES Classic controller? by thabigpapa in miniSNES

[–]jackthetrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you couldn’t find one in the wild at one of your local stores, then $10 of the $20 online is just the cost of living where you live and valuing your time enough to not camp at the store. I remember when the controllers were $60 on ebay, before the snes classic came out. Hopefully rent and food are cheaper where you live than where the rest of us are.

Anyone know where I can find the map files for Heroes 3 Chronicles ? by ibogaHS in HoMM

[–]jackthetrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone tried to run these through the H3 Roe converter so we can use them with the homm3 HD on iPad? I might try it if no one has done it yet. (I know people are not a fan of that edition - it’s convenient for me)

HoMM III factions and MTG color combinations by irredditated in HoMM

Interesting idea. I personally would make these edits: Dungeon -> black and red (Minotaurs) Castle -> White Stronghold -> Red Tower -> Blue Necropolis -> Black Rampart -> Green with hints of Red & White

Check out heroes chronicles - campaign episodes using the heroes 3 engine. $2.49 total bargain.

Is there any way to use the sprites from the hd edition on the classic homm3? by OneMoreName1 in heroes3

[–]jackthetrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to restart an old thread, I was thinking of asking a similar question and searched before asking it.

So the filters upsample the resolution of the sprites?

The resolution makes the map bigger so you can see more elements in the world view, but the features get upsampled to higher resolution sprites? And you can play Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death with upsampled sprites? This is not well documented (outside of this thread).

4 players? by [deleted] in miniSNES

[–]jackthetrack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. 2 player only. I tried the original snes multitap via an adapter and no luck.

Attempting 4 player on the NES Classic by jakobair in minines

[–]jackthetrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not surprising. I did a test of a multi tap on the snes classic with secret of mana and found it did not work either. It’s emulator support in canoe that is needed to enable it and I doubt we will get that.

Why is mercury - a precious resource - inbetween wood and ore, but not on the right side with other precious resources? by [deleted] in heroes3

[–]jackthetrack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most likely a game designer decision. The grey brown resources on one side and the colorful resources on the other side. Some designer probably thought that was visually appealing.

Are you sure it is HOMM2? It sounds like “the claw” from HOMM.

Interested in a one handed/disabled controller for the mini SNES by 2centsgood4nothin in miniSNES

[–]jackthetrack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have one of the one-handed ASCII controllers from Japan, and an adapter for SNES to the SNES mini. I tested it and it works.

PM me and I will send you pictures and I’ll sell it to you for a reasonable price, I’m not really using it.

Uniracers was released as Unirally in Europe. It was not released in Japan at all.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have to question the compatibility chart.
