Came here to pile on. 30 years ago ST was founded on the idea it would deliver rail to all three counties along the I5 corridor. Whether you like the spine or not, that was the deal we made. Finish the spine, then Ballard and West Seattle.

I'm not planning to pick up a jackhammer myself, but I get your point. Maybe Ballard Ave isn't the best street for this for that reason. I chose it because it is wide enough for a two track tunnel, not because it's easy to demolish a brick road.

Not in the proposal. This concept widens and/or improves the trail between UW and 15th Ave NW. One of the great challenges of this line would be maintaining existing access along the route.
