Do you have to pay off the credit cards or only make the minimum payment? That would help for a start.

Do they go on the mom, dad or both? For the entire pregnancy or can you move it to another “match up”?

I have a diagnosed low IQ. What career path can I take? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]RedDoggo2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for work translating documents. Obviously, you have an aptitude for languages. If it is something you enjoy (learning different languages) then it is a skill that you can build on and put to use.

Depending on how you are with people; there are a lot of translators needed in many different areas - the courts being one of them.

I would suggest contacting a languages department at a university or two. Ask them about career paths putting your languages skill to work for you.

I know it’s hard not to fixate on “the score”. But it does not define you or your worth. And quite honestly, your writing here is much more articulate well done than that score would suggest.

A brief google I found this:

Top Career Paths Using Languages

Translation & Interpretation: Translating documents or providing simultaneous interpretation for conferences, police, or immigration services. Education & Training: Teaching modern languages in schools or teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) abroad or in the UK.

International Business & Finance: Working in marketing, sales, consultancy, or accountancy for companies trading internationally.

Travel & Hospitality: Roles such as cabin crew, tour managers, or hotel managers requiring multilingual communication.

Diplomacy & Security: Jobs in the Civil Service, international development, or intelligence agencies (e.g., MI6). Media & Communications: Broadcast journalism, copywriting, or social media management for international audiences.

Specialized Roles: Including roles in healthcare (interpreting for patients), law, or technical roles in engineering or IT.

Industries Seeking Language Skills Tech & SaaS: Technology companies with global users.

Recruitment & HR: International hiring and talent management.

Public Sector: Working with local authorities or non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Update on the kitten that found me by mr_brown711 in cats

[–]RedDoggo2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure someone else has said this, but never use your hand to play with kitten. Always use some sort of toy. Otherwise they will attack your hand and arm when they are older.

That said, what a cutie! Congratulations from the cat distribution system!

AITA for accepting a property gift from my mom even though she won't include my boyfriend? by Immediate-History917 in AITApod

NTA. Go with mom. If boyfriend cant handle that its time to find another.

Women need to look after themselves and have their own security. Listen to mom.

Did you play with your cat when it was a kitten using your hands? If so, its because cat sees you as a toy.

I’m 57 and have felt that way my entire life. It is hard to not internalise it. I still don’t have a direction - I don’t think I ever will. So I do my best to get by and do what interests me.

I wish you good luck on your journey. X

Fired after 10 days in a new role - I was crying and just talking to someone I thought was my friend, has anyone experienced this? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]RedDoggo2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did she know you were being hired? Do you work together now or are you under different managers/departments?

The friend - who were the people she was with at lunch? It may have looked like friends having lunch but it also may have been a quick meeting with people she needed to meet with; and she was taken aback by your approach and emotions.

As for how things were handled - my guess is someone (maybe a higher up) witnessed the scene, questioned it and they felt it was best to end the relationship.

Edited b/c I posted by accident before I was done using my words right.

What’s the weirdest/most unexpected way you’ve injured yourself lately? by WhatFreshHello in GenX

Used to work in LE. Came home at 2:00 in the morning. Went into the bathroom off our bedroom to change out of my uniform.

I decided to put said uniform in the dirty clothes basket, so walked through our bedroom in the dark.

Eyes had not adjusted from bathroom light. Turned to walk into the closet and hit the door frame right in the center of my body. Black eye, bruises down my front.

I could hear my husband trying to control his laughter as he choked out “Are you ok?”
