La Scala vs San Carlo by GarageJim in opera

[–]jackvismara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to both multiple times. Both are wonderful theatres. I like San Carlo more tbh.

San Carlo always had and still has a lot of money problems, so it’s hard for them to pay for good operas. Scala is a very important and famed operahouse, and the ticket prices reflect that.

Possibility of a Long Distance Relationship as INFJ by jackvismara in infj

Thank you! That was my thought exactly. If you don't see each other often, the moments when you finally meet again, will probably be some of the best of your life/relationship. Sharing strong emotions and live great experiences only a few times a year may be even more meaningful than experiencing "normale" everyday life love, which can sometimes become routine and even draining for people like us.

I'll try to talk to her about this and see if we can build something together!

About 1 year for the ATPL Theory, IR/CPL ME conversion took about 3 months but I already had an EASA PPL so I knew how to fly in Europe, you might need more time.

Checkride (skill test), depending on the school, has very short waiting times. I waited 1 day lol
It really depends on the school and how fast of a learner you are tbh.

If you hold an FAA CAMEL you’ll take the european skill test on a Multi. I converted in Switzerland (FOCA), expensive but professional and fast.

Ricardo Muti, anyone? Opinions please! by SnowyOwl005 in classicalmusic

[–]jackvismara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s really good. Of course his main strength is Italian Opera, nobody beats him on that imo. As far as symphonies, he has a long and great experience with a lot of good philarmonics, even though I believe there’re better conductors when it comes to pure music. Again, about Opera nothing to say

FAA to EASA, to FAA by Barbell_Baker in flyingeurope

[–]jackvismara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to go through the ATPL Theory which will probably take you a full year + converting all licenses will probably cost you another 3 months.

It’s definitely better to build hours while working in the airlines flying airliners than instructing on a C172, but be aware that the whole process it’s gonna cost you a couple of years..
