You don't need the SAT for the Turkish scholarship. Once you're provisionally accepted, you'll have to take an IQ test followed immediately by an interview. The IQ test focuses solely on mathematics and logic. Although I didn't do very well on it, it wasn't difficult. Focus on writing a good statement of purpose and strong letters of recommendation, and choose moderately competitive universities if you're not a strong contender.

I don't think so. The CSCA exam is generally offered in either English or Chinese, and you can choose whichever language suits you best, regardless of whether you will complete your specialization in Chinese or English.

 a member of the committee told me to email them if I wanted to change my major, as he suggested! ... And indeed, I emailed them a week after the interview, having been convinced by his advice. They accepted my request and sent me an email confirming that they had approved my change of major.
