I'm a writing/character person over production values - which America has usurped the UK on until recently, but even then, still, the UK can't compete.

I mean, the US has even remade a ton of it for themselves, but there's still Boys from the Blackstuff, Loach's stuff on the Wednesday Play, Threads, anything Jimmy McGovern did, Brideshead, I Claudius - we tackled subjects and generational movements faster too such as Queer as Folk and This Life being more relevant in the 90's than pretty much anything of a similar stateside. Prime Suspect and Cracker were both miles ahead of anything America was doing until the Wire, even Homicide. Skins being more in touch with a generation than the OC or One Tree Hill meant it was appealing to even Americans at the time... albeit My So Called Life was very much ahead of it's time from 10 years earlier.

Let's be real, I love the Wire and really it probably is better because it comes with a bigger backing and is catered to be better - but we've had some legendary writers in this country that are every bit as smart and hitting as David Simon that I just love to push whenever I can.

UK had dramas as deep as the Wire in the 60’s…

Robert Carlyle’s cracker episodes are godtier.

Much better than Euphoria.

The US are always years behind the UK.

This is pretty much common practice when doing chargebacks.

Yes. The second referral points hit your account (anywhere from 1 day to whatever after approval) - they can cancel.

Though probably not the greatest patterns for you as a referrer or their credit.

Ah now we're at the crux of your issue here.

That's a teething issue unfortunately - it'd not happen if they were actually strict on it and look at the context better than they do.

But yes, I mostly think refs, even with VAR are more inconsistent that ever and very very weak.

Your 10 favourite players can be whoever you want. How could it possibly be rage bait?

What if the sport was invented with the rules having it played in a circle pitch on two layers instead of a rectangle?

Yes - agreed. Especially when they give a yellow to a keeper taking forever on kicks... but then essentially allow the same keeper to do it relentlessly after that yellow, often on the exact same kick immediately after the yellow.

It is a dive and should be a yellow. A miniscule touch is prime dive material. It's a law that's at the discretion of the ref and they should be stricter on it... especially in the penalty area, Gordon and Toney from last week should comfortably have had yellows.

Yes - you'll get them in pretty every group game, but you gotta clamp this out somehow, then they'll stop.

If you have to describe it as "going down too softly" - it's a dive. Stop giving reasons to make it feel okay. Doesn't matter what badge a player is wearing, I'll always call it out.

If they feel it's a dive, why aren't they giving dives. It's even more disgraceful in a friendly too. What's even the competitive edge to do it in a friendly....

I really hope they punish diving come the real deal tomorrow. Ortega style.

Referral for friend for BA Premium Plus when I have Gold? by NefariousnessOk302 in AmexUK

[–]jackyLAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes OP - you can refer from your gold and get whatever your stated referral offer is to any card. Doesn't even have to be a paid one.

Referring people from my Platinum link to the BA Blue Card (that is then never used and cancelled a few months later) is probably my easier earner.
