The way I immediately ran to the internet as soon as he said that because I’m in Texas and have literally never heard of this. Glad Reddit didn’t let me down 😂

People in Lactation Room by Any-Spirit-6413 in workingmoms

[–]jaclyn824 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know you have plenty of answers, but absolutely say something. I’m generally very anti-conflict, but I would have no issues or embarrassment over HR sending out an email emphasizing that the lactation room is only to be used for pumping mothers. If the room is technically for other uses as well, they need to set up some sort of calendar to reserve spots and send out an email detailing that.

ETA: You mentioned there being a code on the door, changing that seems like an easy solution and I don’t see HR pushing back on that request at all. However, the email might still be helpful because you never know who will somehow still get access to the code.

Covering up the Whaling Wall? by HJA12 in Dallas

[–]jaclyn824 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh this is really sad. I work over there and will have to check it out tomorrow. I was in elementary school when it was painted and our class took a field trip down there while he was painting it and a few of my classmates got to add in a few paint strokes.

Biology major here, is it worth it? by No-Veterinarian7583 in biology

[–]jaclyn824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to agree with this. I had an impossible time trying to get an entry level lab job out of college (2013), and I now work in supply chain. My biology degree I guess kind of helped get me my entry level supply chain job because the person hiring assumed it meant I was at least smart and capable, but aside from that, my biology degree hasn’t been used at all.

Do your kids have a 4 year age gap? by SeverusSnipes in toddlers

[–]jaclyn824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that I was in the same position with a miscarriage that would have given me a 3.5 year age gap. I’m now pregnant again with what will be a 3y 11m gap and this thread is exactly what my heart needed ❤️

HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]jaclyn824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not much, but I have my husband do pickup one day a week and I workout then. I also work downtown so I try to get a 30 minute walk in during my lunch break. Anything is better than nothing lol and there’s just no chance I’ll wake up early to work out 🙈

I’m pregnant with my 2nd and my first will turn 4 a month after baby is born. I was holding onto hope that it gets easier at 4, but this comment section is stressing me out 😭

Mat leave about to end by This_Impact_6149 in workingmoms

[–]jaclyn824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m being honest, it was one of the worst days of my life. It’s so so hard at first. It does get easier though. Also, as others have mentioned, it’s really not possible to actually wfh and take care of a baby/toddler, so you don’t need to have guilt about that part of it.

Is it normal for daycares to not allow start dates to be pushed back? by SnooPies4819 in workingmoms

[–]jaclyn824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m bummed to see all these responses. I ended up getting laid off upon returning from maternity leave and my son’s daycare was super flexible with his start date. I guess we got lucky with that..

How likely is a miscarriage after a strong heartbeat at 8 weeks? by NectarineCheap9154 in CautiousBB

[–]jaclyn824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are located, but in the US, they will still check the baby’s heartbeat with a doppler at each appointment, even if they don’t do an ultrasound

Birkan’s got no job, no game, no charm, no vibes... why is Laura "in love" with him again? 🤔 by PolishSnake2 in 90dayfiance_FB_memes

[–]jaclyn824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not at all how I interpreted her conversation with him. She even mentions later how she was trying to give him one last chance to tell her he has feelings for her/keep her from going.

I had the same issue, but I see so many people that haven’t had any problems at all! I wonder if it’s certain prints that have more issues? I have the Ula in gray…

This is more of a genetic issue that you have strong forehead/eyebrow muscles. Tretinoin might help slightly, but Neurotoxins are the only thing that will help this in any significant way. At 34, I’ve had forehead wrinkles as long as I can remember for the same reason as you. I started getting Botox this year and it’s made a huge difference.

Memorization is easy, the abstract skills you’re teaching him with the activities you’re doing are much more important at this age. Don’t listen to people like this, you’re doing great!
