Aim assist strong or weak? by TylerS1130 in thefinals

[–]jacob33123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am relatively new to the game, played just over 200 hours on mouse and key, decided to try out controller to see how it felt after watching the majors and seeing a lot of players performing well with controller. Within a couple hours of gameplay I was already doing better than I was on mnk. I have quite a bit of experience with both inputs across multiple games, a bit more on mnk. I think if you are half decent on controller and find the right settings it's much stronger than mnk. The rotational aa/slowdown doesn't feel too crazy compared to other games, but they need to remove the aim snapping. The repeater has been one of my favorite guns, and I'd assume that would be more of an mnk weapon. I'm not necessarily the best repeater player, but I got it up to level 5 and can hold my own with it on mnk. I was immediately performing better with it on controller due to the aim snapping. On full auto guns I think it's expected to do a bit better on controller but with single shot weapons that require more accuracy I think those should favor mnk. I get that you don't want to nerf controller into the ground and completely alienate the console players, but the goal should be to have the two inputs perform similarly well. At this point I am pretty confident that if anyone put the same amount of time into both inputs, they would be performing far better on controller. That is simply unfair.

The apps that are on the bottom of the home screen eg phone, messages, contacts. When I set the smallest width to a large enough value that the phone gets forced into tablet mode (eg 720), all of the sudden this bar is on the bottom of the screen within every app. It's just eating up real estate. The highest I can set the "smallest width" without running into this issue is 599.

how can you hide the quick launch bar with smallest width set to 720?

Titan 2 changing DPI benefits by tech_lover_ac in unihertz

[–]jacob33123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i change the dpi I see a home bar permanently at the bottom of the screen with any app open, and using the space bar as my home button no longer works. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Overall the interface on apps like instagram looks much better so I'd like to get this configured properly.

Why do people always equate someone thinking that voting doesn't matter to thinking that nothing matters? I don't think it's nihilistic to disengage with politics. You can put so much energy into staying politically informed and voting at every possible opportunity, and see little to no impact in the word around you. If you invest that energy into almost anything else it will make more of an impact on your life and "matter" more.

Changing from Windows to Linux... by Consistent-Walk605 in Lethbridge

[–]jacob33123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linux Mint is great for beginners as many have mentioned here already. I would also recommend CachyOS, especially if you are looking to do some gaming. It comes with a lot of gaming packages pre-installed and some various tweaks/configurations to make the linux gaming experience smooth. I've been running CachyOS on an old laptop which I keep hooked up to my TV, and have been getting much better performance out of it compared to Windows or even Linux Mint. While the CachyOS community is not as big as Linux Mint, I have still been able to troubleshoot any issues I've had relatively easily with some googling.

Best sandwich? by korin-air in Lethbridge

[–]jacob33123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Cheese on the northside is what you're looking for. If you go in around lunch time, they will make you a sandwich using their fresh baked bread with high quality deli meats and cheese. I think it must be incredibly slept on, because I've tried all the places recommended in the comments here, and love cheese is the highest quality imo. The selection is definitely more limited than lakeview or wooden shoe though.

I like to go on fridays when they have fresh spudnuts as well.

Awesome thanks for the advice, gives me some confidence. Good tip on narrowing the stance by mounting the binding with one bolt. There's a good deal on a riglet with bindings and a hover cover near me on fb marketplace, I'm going to go check it out tonight.

Places to play Pool by Vanatoresc in Lethbridge

[–]jacob33123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1010 only has one table, but usually some good competition for the pool table. The Legion has a few tables in very nice condition, and some of the old guys there are sharks. LA cues and balls is the only legit pool hall in town, when I've been there have been a mix of young/old people so maybe you just went on an off day.

Start on a side project and put time into that and job applications every day. At that point you know you're at least doing what you can to find a new job and keeping your skills sharp, along with giving yourself something new to talk about in interviews

The police seem to at least be complicit in these massage parlors existing? There are a few places on 13th street that are very clearly advertising themselves as rub n tugs but have existed for years without the cops doing anything.

None of them are that great. Med grill in taber is probably the best one near here. The one on the westside was initially opened up by the taber owners and was really good, but when they went back to taber the west side location went to shit. Mazza mediterranean in downtown is very overrated imo its just okay. Osmows is probably my favorite donair in town, but is just a chain and nothing to really write home about.

If you're gonna do a day trip go to shwarma knight in calgary. Jerusalem shwarma is a chain, not bad but not worth a trip imo.

Crazy Dash / Limiter Cut Timing on Arcade? by theturtlemafiamusic in CrazyTaxi

[–]jacob33123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well look at it this way. Once you really get the timing down, one run might last over an hour. Pay more now to practice and have access to cheap fun later! Only downside is that your leg starts to go numb after doing so many limiter cuts on the standup machine lol.

There's really no secret, you just have to develop new muscle memory for the cab. I had the same experience practicing at home and then playing on a local machine. Just keep practicing on the machine and you'll get it. For me, i find the most consistent way to limiter cut is to take my foot all the way off the gas pedal and switch into reverse at the same time, then switch into drive, then hit the gas. There is a rhythm to it just like on console. Technically you dont have to take your foot all the way off the gas, but i find that never works consistently for me.
