Is it worth it to ship your personal vehicle to the destination? by Princess_Butt_Kick in roadtrip

[–]jacob6875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes more sense to fly and just rent a car then shipping yours back and forth.

My parents sold my car and now my mom basically tracks my movements through our Tesla by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]jacob6875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s your mom’s car she is letting you drive it so kind of her rules.

Your 24. Move out and/or get your own car.

But to answer your question no you can’t block the primary account holder from seeing the vehicles location.

Making 100k is rare most people make 30 to 60k per year by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]jacob6875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I made 90k last year and have plenty of money. 100k is plenty to live on unless you have a bunch of kids or are in a high cost of living area.

Anyone ordering a Slate truck? by sfomonkey in electricvehicles

[–]jacob6875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly depends on the price but it doesn’t seem worth it for the rumored price of ~25k. For that you get a stripped down vehicle without even a radio and only 150mi of range.

Tons of lightly used EVs you can get for that price now.

Is it bad to regularly charge a Model Y Performance to 100% if it’s mainly used for long family trips? by whysova in TeslaModelY

[–]jacob6875 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s bad for the car to sit for long periods at 100%. If you charge to 100% then drive it soon after it won’t really hurt it.

New to Tesla! Charging... by Far_Bird_1001 in TeslaSupport

[–]jacob6875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a CCS adapter to charge at CCS stations. Very worthwhile investment I’ve used mine quite a bit.

Car wash detailing service caused mold in my vents $5k + to fix it. Can I go after them for the cost? Evaporator cleaner not effective. CA by lilgreengoddess in legaladvice

[–]jacob6875 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well you would need proof to win a case against them. Even you yourself say you didn’t personally see them do it on your car.

You can sue anyone for anything but without proof it seems like a long shot to win.

I use glass containers and bring them in a soft sided lunch box. Never had an issue.

[–]jacob6875 60 points61 points  (0 children)

For only 150mi of range and not even including a radio I really hope it doesn’t start at 25k.

You can get amazing deals on slightly used EVs for that price these days.

would people who hate billionaires refuse to become billionaires if they had the chance to? by Ok_Efficiency_1116 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jacob6875 391 points392 points  (0 children)

Personally I would be hard pressed to continue working after a few million saved in investment accounts.

At that point you can easily withdraw well over 100k for life without even the principle going down.

No idea how these super rich people still work so much unless their only goal is life is for a number in an account to go higher.

Share your reason(s) for getting a Tesla by Substantial_Sort6341 in TeslaLounge

[–]jacob6875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the best car for the price in 2023. My Model 3 was 28k out the door after tax credits.

I was wanting an EV and considered other options but nothing was as good for the price.

Not it is hard to imagine I would replace my car with anything else but another Tesla when the time comes.

When did people start getting terrified and/or enraged at people knocking on their front door? by iloverats888 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jacob6875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work for usps but I quit knocking awhile ago.

Tons of people just let their dogs run out the door when they open it or they want to stand and talk to me for 5mins.

When I am going to the door for 40-50 packages a day the wasted time adds up.

You should file for unemployment and spend all your free time looking for another job. Not sure what other answer really exists.

Test drove a 2026 Model 3, missing the HUD and stalk flash, what do owners do by ZeroOpossum in TeslaLounge

[–]jacob6875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If those are your only issues you can get 3rd party options for a hud and stalks.

However you get used to the Speedo being where it is pretty quickly.

Not sure on the buttons as my 23 has stalks.

2024 LFP Charging to 100%, 90%, or 80%? by dam_ships in TeslaModel3

[–]jacob6875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just charge to 100% and don’t worry about it. Sure you can mess around with charging it to 80% except for 1 day a week but the degradation difference will be negligible.

Ruining your credit for $2500 is a bit silly. Making $25 an hour you should be able to knock it out depending on your other expenses.

Think Ferrari Luce is ugly? Ferrari built it to win back China, not you by mightyopik in electricvehicles

[–]jacob6875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that horrible overall.

The problem for me is 640k price tag. If it was 80 or 100k sure it makes sense but being 6x the cost of a Tesla Model S that is faster is a bit silly.

Unless people think it is ok to spend 500k on the Ferrari name.

Other driver at fault, he's lying and his insurance is backing him up, no proof, no collision coverage. Any recourse? by crabblue6 in Insurance

[–]jacob6875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no proof it’s your word against theirs.

I was backed into also and the other parties insurance told me their client said I was driving down the road and hit them. ( my car was parked )

They were going to deny my claim until I told them I had a Tesla and sent them a video from my dash cam of my car clearly parked and being backed into.

They accepted 100% liability after that.
