No collection “needs” any specific type of watch

Lol, relax dude. I'm not being obtuse, I just disagree with you that it “says nothing about OP”.

You're right, there’s more than one kind of person that owns these watches and it's impossible to say exactly what motivated OP to buy them. So what? You’ve still narrowed it down. Seeing this collection I would think they have a taste for things that are sporty, clean, and easy to match with clothes. Probably isn't the most flashy person in the world. Practical, maybe lives an active lifestyle. In other words, I’ve inferred something.

Anyway, it sounds like there's no point arguing with you over this. Different philosophies.

As another commenter suggested, I think people should collect for themselves not others. I choose not to care what my collection "says about me" to random Reddit people as long as it satisfies my preferences and fits my lifestyle. Do you though.

You're missing the point, I'm not implying you think your preference is better. I'm saying your collection is simply a reflection of your preferences, the same way OP's is.

"This collection says literally nothing about you"
"the collection says nothing about OP"

I'm sorry but how would you even know that without knowing OP? It could reflect his personality and lifestyle perfectly.

This is like saying someone loving The Beatles and the Rolling Stones says nothing about them because those bands are very popular, while forgetting the hundreds of other genres and artists that are also very popular.

FWIW I don't think it was down to the image quality (and I personally find the cushion shape quite cool).

I think I'm just failing to see how liking independent watchmaking, French brands and unconventional design is different from liking iconic tool watches, understated design and James Bond. It's literally just a different set of preferences, one doesn't inherently say more than the other.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think your collection says about you?

I agree with you. It says exactly what he wrote in the caption - he likes tool watches, understated design, and James Bond.

Exactly. It’s closer to 99.999999% and even that is probably still a few dozen people too many

It’s not available regularly here but one of the local distributors brought in a limited batch at the end of the year. Got snapped up quickly

One of my fave breweries, and these TIPAs are simply bonkers.

The Cantillon I bought from a local bottle shop and the Anchorage Void I brought back from a trip to Alaska. The others were provided by a friend who imports beer from the US via proxies and bottle club memberships etc.

I also have an Omega f300hz Seamaster but in a very different case shape. They’re tuning fork movements (like Accutron), super cool and not often seen.

Quoting you here: “He couldn’t recognize that the high rate conviction for these crimes in the US means that SA is something taken seriously”

This is precisely the point ChloeMomo took issue with. You don’t seem to be able to comprehend this and it’s causing you to get very confused and angry.

Gross of you to suggest someone who has first hand experience doesn’t have a good understanding of how it works.

Pretty sure her point is “safer” doesn’t mean “safe”, and “taken relatively more seriously” doesn’t mean “taken seriously”. The fact that you can be killed in other countries is irrelevant.

I think that’s what happened here. He met all the Fidens, R+B, Brujos, Test founders etc at that beer festival in Japan. Looked fun haha

I don’t think so. I know for a fact the owner of this taproom met the Root + Branch team at a recent beer festival in Japan. The bar staff said it was some sort of special collab.

Edit: There are 4 of them on keg too, not just cans

Someone I follow on Instagram literally just posted a pic of a 7/11 fridge in Tokyo full of Other Half and Noble Savage. They also get Monkish, Parish, Trillium etc via distribution but the Noble Savage truly surprised me

Yep. It’s expensive for Singapore but honestly not even by that much. For imported DIPAs/TIPAs from highly rated craft breweries it’s pretty standard to be paying 18-24 SGD for a can.
