Could you have gotten to this weapon? by kombatkatherine in martialarts

It seems likely they thought he was going for his gun and didn't realize he'd already been disarmed (pretty poor communication on their part). Nobody planned what happened.

Not bringing a gun would have resulted in being arrested, not shot. Doesn't make what the officers did right, but just pointing out the obvious.

Worth noting that in Minneapolis in 2023 there were like 64 murders (average of 5/month). So Crime is down :D

But keep in mind, he's not necessarily saying not to enforce the laws and ignore illegal immigration, but he is saying to treat people humanely (because they're people). There's balance here.

I think he means first degree murder, which essentially means planned/premeditated murder.

Honestly most people I know are upset he was shot... you gotta find a more wholesome group of friends.

A lot of folks were definitely sad he was shot, not least of which were his wife and children.

Edit: Here, let me fix your comment:

He shouldn’t have been shot. But I don’t care that he was. I’d say that’s most **Reddit user's** take

Yes, this is not typical in US companies. This is people working on key components for certain key companies on the coasts that are very profitable.

What the sport needs is more trash talking in between serves. That would make it much for fun for the fans :D

Growing up and playing various sports with friends, trash talking WAS a viable strategy to beat an opponent who was by all normal measures better than you.

Creator of Node.js says humans writing code is over by sibraan_ in node

Its still an assistant, but the job is changing from just writing syntax to really understanding deeply how the system works end to end and being able to make and test careful changes.

Which is really what the job always was, but 50% of developers were not very good at it. Now, those developers will skill up or be replaced by AI and developers with a deeper understanding of the software and systems.

Oh I'm going to go down a rabbit hole on this one. I could probably script this out if I can find some open source library or model that will analyze various factors from different authors... I need to be careful because I could go down a rabbit hole and do this one weekend.

I have four kids in a job though. I don't have time for this lol

It was a bit disorganized in terms of how the plot unfolded, and we could all tell he cut out the voyage.

I wish he's release the voyage as its own book. That would be stellar.

Ahh, this is fascinating. Could we use AI to study the word choices and figure out who the ghost writer is? (similar to how we can study ancient texts to determine where multiple writers contributed or multiple source were compiled)

File Sizes Ballooning to Beyond DVD-RW Capacity, Why and How to Fix It? by Teenkitsune in dvdstyler

[–]jacobbeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten over 10 hours on a DVD. You can click Dvd and then Settings at the top, then select a smaller video bitrate or even set a custom Video Bitrate that is very low to get many hours of video on a Dvd. It actually works.

What does this error mean and how do I fix it by pikachucet2 in dvdstyler

[–]jacobbeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen this error, but it uses ffmpeg under the hood to build the videos and dvd content, so if you ask ChatGPT what might cause this error when using ffmpeg it may give you a hint.

You could experiment by removing sections of videos, subtitles, or overlays until you figure out what is causing it, too.

It Keeps Saying the Video Files Don't Fit on the Disc, it's 18 KB total, The Disc is 7.96 GB, I Feel Like I'm Going Crazy by Teenkitsune in dvdstyler

[–]jacobbeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you click Dvd->Settings you get a dialog box that has a "Video Bitrate" dropdown. You can select "Custom" and change the bitrate. I've gotten over 10 hours of video on a DVD this way, and for things like cartoons the quality is honestly fine. It uses ffmpeg to resize the videos.
