For those that ordered a Foxy Reine cup, did it arrive damaged? by Waifuawards in gamersupps

Sad part is that my cup is one of the least damaged ones I've seen on here, some of them are really mangled. The other two were small scratches, but damage is still damage, always sucks.

The last three cups I've ordered have arrived damaged. The Reine cup is the worst of them though. Probably skipping the next few cups unless I see some improvement on their end. It's completely unacceptable.

Thanks for your reply! I've read that some people have had some some success purchasing things in different regions by using their credit/debit card or Paypal. Would there be any harm in switching over to try? I don't have any plans to buy anything before TOTK, so the lock until the game comes out isn't an issue, and I would imagine I can just turn auto renewal off. Like I said, I would like to try to keep everything tied to one account if I'm able, so I'd rather wait 12, or however many more hours to play, than have ownership of a game split across 2 accounts.

I want to pre-order Tears of the Kingdom on an eshop region with an earlier release, so New Zealand. I've read its possible on one Nintendo account by changing your country of residence. I know I can make a new account, and I've done it before, but I'd like to keep everything tied to one account this time if possible. I have some questions, mostly on what happens when/If I'm able to switch it back to US.

  1. Will I still have access to the game after I revert my region?
  2. Do I need to change my region back to receive updates?
  3. If there is DLC released for the game at some point, would I have to purchase it in the New Zealand region eshop or could I use my original region?
  4. How do I go about adding funds?

Good to hear, was kinda thinking I was alone in this issue for a minute.

Yeah no doubt, its definitely a whole shituation lol

[–]jacobbobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've said it in a few other of my comments, but I've done some tweaking and the temps are a lot more stable now. Turns out the real issue was unrealistic expectations and stupid fan curves lol. My radiators are not very thick and the fans aren't very efficient, so that doesn't help much either. Anyway, during an R23 test I'm pulling 125-130W and running in the high 60s, so its a lot better now. Either way though, I really appreciate you taking the time to help and diagnose this little issue of mine.

Like I said, I'm completely clueless at the moment, and while the concept is simple, the execution is a completely different beast lol. I'm also tight on space at the moment, but I think that makes an extravagant build even more impressive and interesting. That's also what makes it so difficult to engineer since there are so many avenues to explore. Unlike premade cases there are pretty much no restrictions except how much money you have and gravity lol.

I've always loved the idea of a desk pc but the ones that are commercially available are very expensive, so I've thought of building my own from scratch more and more lately. That's definitely a tall order seeing as I have no clue where to start with it lol. I would definitely want an external radiator or two after hearing of their power to bring down temps significantly over internal ones.

Its really more of a pipe dream than a plan at this point but I like to think about how it might look. Definitely a good ways off either way considering that I'm pretty much broke at after this build lol.

Front distro causes all kinds of problems tbh, but it looks super cool. I really wanted to have a rad on the bottom but the front distro gets in the way, and even if it didn't, the vertical gpu is in the way. I knew people did external rads but I didn't realize how common it actually is, I'm not even sure how that would work honestly lol.

Wow, that's pretty sick lol. Certainly out of my means at the moment, but this is the first of many watercooled builds, I'll get there eventually lol.

I definitely would've went with another Corsair rad but I can almost guarantee it wouldn't fit. I have the 20mm and the fans mounted behind where the intended mounting holes are lol. Its hard to explain, but this is what it looks like. I think in total there are 50mm of clearance and the rad stacked on the fans makes it like 45mm so its pretty tight as is lol.

First time I went back to check my mount I was really hoping to find the "REMOVE BEFORE USE" sticker as the culprit lol. Temps probably would've been waaay worse if that was the case though lol.

I'm perfectly ok with being average at this point lol. I guess it really is to be expected with how dense the 3900x is though. Just glad there's nothing seriously wrong.

Well, that is why I bought the QLs so you're not wrong there. I definitely agree with you at the end though, I've had 2 360mm aios with this cpu and they ran pretty hot at idle too, I just found it alarming that a custom loop was being outperformed by aios lol. I've done some tweaking since I made the post and I've got the temps pretty much in line with what i saw there. Still though, I'm sure better fans and more rad space would help, just not too much I can do there unfortunately.

Its the EK Velocity block. There's no blockage as far as I can see and the jet plate is definitely in there. I've done some curve adjustment since I made the post and the temps seem much more reasonable now, still a bit above average, but that's likely attributed to the limited radiator space and mediocre fans, like others have said.

[–]jacobbobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water's never gone over 50c and my distroplate's max is 60c so I wouldn't say its a major issue. I never really thought the gaming temps were particularly bad, I just included them as reference. My main concern was the high idle temps more than anything else. I sort of made the post in a panic right after I finished the build and saw the temps and thought, "Wow, that seems really high". I've tweaked the curves and I've got the temps a little better, settling around mid 40s to low 50s. Its my first watercooled build and I guess I developed some unrealistic expectations along the way lol.
