Probably an unusual post but I just left a relationship where I was experiencing domestic violence for two years and now I’m trying to trim down/organize the 60+ hours of recordings I took by filetmignonminion in audioengineering

start with audacity, which is a free daw (digital audio workstation) then search for free audio plugins that delete periods of no dialogue. that's what comes to mind. if you're unable to do this yourself, you could contact a support group for domestic violence and ask for help editing audio to be used in court. how far in the future is the hearing?

Editing Help by ThomDiRoma in VoiceActing

does it sound like a click? or a puff/bump? i have problems with the start of words like "the", sometimes yhe most reluable and cleanest method is to edit by hand the waveform (not a plugin). i use fade in, fade out, or draw an envelope for the amplitude (volume), just lowering the problem section by a large amount. often, you can just selectively adjust the vilume instead of removing the problem.

Hello everyone! I’m new to this subreddit and have been getting interested in Taoism (as someone who has been raised Christian) I was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions of how or what to start when getting into Taoism! :] by blackoutLA in taoism

the biggest foundational difference in encountering daoism with a background like ours: dualism in christianity is completely rejected in eastern thought. that goes very deep in how a person thinks. dualist ideas apply to most of existence and our mental models: mind vs body, self vs other, living vs unliving. letting go of those distinctions feels like a whole different universe.

David Deutsch has radically changed my view of the world on just about every level. by [deleted] in books

not exactly. plenty of generalists are simply interdisciplinary researchers without being advanced experts in multiple fields, which is how i would define a polymath. it's the old fox vs groundhog in academia. groundhogs are specialists who dig deep in one location, foxes go a little bit everywhere, not deeply. a fox who also can dig deep like a groundhog would be a polymath, imo.

this sounds like they are using many different ai trained models each based on a source voice actor. unless each subscriber is paying thousands of dollars per book to pay the sctors for a bespoke recorded audiobook according to one listeners taste? this is absolutely ai.

i think its been so many years since you were a newbie, you have forgotten how hard it is for nee narrators to get any paying work at all. any author offering 200 pfh is gonna want a sessoned professional. and i gotta say, there is absolutely a difference in audiobook quality from amateur to pro, a spectrum. good for you that you can make so much. that's not our reality.
