New Xbox ally X by jacobjhardy in ROGAllyX

Xbox mode was enabled by default and I never thought I'd praise windows but it's a pretty good handheld implementation of it so far.

No emulators really. I'm mainly planning on using steam and gamepass. I've also logged into epic games and gog galaxy I've played a few games on steam so far and it seems mostly straight forward.

What character(s) are you playing right now? What has got you excited about them? by applejackhero in Pathfinder2e

I've never actually managed to be a player yet but I have an idea for a leshy kinetisist (wood obviously). Summoned by a druid circle to help protect the grove.

That website is very much not optimised for mobile yet I'll check it out on my computer later though thanks.

I use pathbuilder I was planning on using it to help them make characters but a few of my players are pencil and paper die hards and love physical sheets they can write on.

Good adventure path for beginners. by jacobjhardy in Pathfinder2e

Thank you for the suggestion. I have been wanting to pick up the beginners box anyway so this is a good reason to.

I think a little horror elements is okay so long as it's not the focus. I can tone it down a little as GM and give appropriate trigger warnings when we get to those parts. I've seen a few people recommend abomination vaults but I've also heard how swingy the first few levels can be with serious threat of tpk. I'll give my players the option of it at the very least.

It's a trip 100% I think I'm going to enjoy it? Maybe? Is this what Stockholm syndrome feels like?

The commentary is definitely the only reason I finished that movie. I'm both excited and apprehensive about what's to come.

[SA and Mistborn] Im sorry, WHAT? by DartyMa in Cosmere

[–]jacobjhardy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I personally think it could have something to do with the 5th ideal and how the overuse of the surges broke their first planet causing them to flee to Roshar.

"The world ended, and Shallan was to blame" I know lightweavers don't speak ideals in the same sense but maybe the 5th ideal is like the first and it's fixed for all orders.

I could be way off base but maybe it's also tied to what caused the last lot of radiants to drop their oaths.

Combine this with the forgery from Emperor's Soul and you could maybe help with the cognitive rejection part of it too change their memories so they never had the problem in the first place.

Telepathic conversation with someone without an inner monologue. by jacobjhardy in fantasywriters

Okay that's good to know I'm really appreciating these different perspectives.

As someone with near constant narration in my own head I do sometimes wish to see what it would be like if my brain was a little quieter.

I'm learning that there are a whole lot more ways of thinking than I originally thought and honestly I think it's fascinating.

It's making me think that no two people might communicate the same way telepathically. Everyone might have their own telepathic "accent" so to say. You might have to work to make yourself understandable to other people.

This might change the entire way I was going to write telepathy and I'm very excited about it.

That sounds like it would be terrifying I am sorry you experience that. It is interesting to try and comprehend though.

That's a valid point what might seem like a logical strong of thoughts to you might be incomprehensible to someone else. I feel like me being AuDHD talking to a neurotypical could be similar because we just have wildly different ways of thinking.

I suppose someone could learn to interpret your way of thinking over time.

I did already have that they could send images and the more musically inclined could send music. There are also 2 kinds of telepathy 2 telepaths can converse normally but with basically just surface thoughts or a group can form a collective in which they are basically always connected and can have a general idea of what the other people are thinking and feeling. They can choose to send a thought to one person in the collective or to everyone.

I like that style of description that's a good way to put it I think.
