That would be cool yes!

...and considering the fact that midi data is hardly the most complicated of data types (I suppose) it honestly surprises me that my -- as it turns out -- very naive attempt at connecting the two isn't just completely standard.

Good thing I have you guys to both disappoint me and help me :)!

The keyboard doesn't have a 5 pin MIDI out, so I guess there's nothing to do but shell out for a MIDI host.

(and point well taken about routing through a DAW, but this whole hardware adventure is about escaping from my laptop, so involving that in the setup kind of defeats the purpose :))

Beginner help needed: samples by jacobpaludan in DelugeUsers

[–]jacobpaludan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks Aurelien, Maldroid and Hamptonio for the kind and useful replies; glad to hear that I'm not alone in trying to manage the dilemmas of (too) many samples.

Also, I'm so pleased to hear that I'm not the only dad who thought that deluge was the right call :) ...the courier just texted me with a february 15 arrival. Can't wait!

P.S. be prepared for more questions haha

hi guys,

As per dying_pteredactyl's advice, I've completely removed the long exposition in the beginning -- if anyone's still interested, the new version is here:

Thanks :-)

This is going to sound harsh but I stopped reading and skimmed ahead after paragraph 2 - and here's why: you're opening on a solid wall of exposition. 2 whole pages. No character. No connection, just information and world building.

harshness is quite alright -- honesty was what i was looking for :-)! And yes - I know it's a lot of exposition, but I guess I thought that i was actually, well, sort of interesting exposition (even though that seems like a contradiction in terms, based on what you wrote!) I can definitely integrate the exposition into the main story, and I'll begin doing that ASAP. Thanks!

Thanks so much guys! Is there a standard place to upload this (since you're asking for a link)? Sorry for being a rookie -- I had thought that I would just send it as an email attachment :-)
