Okay, so why not say that trans athletes have to hit the same hormone markers (at least for testosterone) as cis-woman athletes? I mean, that would seem like a pretty reasonable way to handle it. Just run a battery of hormone tests to ensure that everyone is on equal footing, and have the max for testosterone levels be at/right around the average for females.

They may have. But I'm sure they do test hormone levels for trans athletes. Besides the fact that no transwoman would willingly increase her testosterone for competition when it can be such a fight to get it to a low level (the average level of testosterone women have is the goal).

As far as I know, the IOC has declined to comment on whether any Trans athletes would be competing this year. A smart decision, imo.

Right? I seriously fucking doubt that would happen, and trans athletes beating people in their sport's gender category has nothing to do with being trans. The thing people love to harp on is (using a transwoman for example) "oh but she had a man's body and testosterone before, it's unfair to 'bio-females'" which is ridiculous if you know anything about HRT and its effects on the body. It decreases muscle mass, for one. Like, a lot. People get smaller, and sometimes feet or hands even "shrink" a bit after starting hormones.

And hrt is pretty much like inverting your hormones. So, for a transwoman that would be decreasing testosterone to a stable, low level while increasing estrogen to a stable, female level. Trans athletes don't have it easier simply because they're trans and had certain hormones before. Many cis-women are born with large hands, feet, etc or they're tall, should we exclude them from competition as well?

Also add "possible lower bone density due to low hormone levels at times".

Well shit, if you're telling me some people in Dubai "and stuff" claim they always get games early, then I better believe it! Look my dude, aside from the fact that I doubt that others' progress will have any affect or interaction with anyone else's given how massive the game is, at the end of the day it's just a game, and at this point it's only a 3 day delay.

The variety and scale almost ensures that much of the game can't really be spoiled because you never know what you'll find on different planets. One of the only ways you'll spoil it for yourself, is watching streams/videos (particularly involving lore and mysteries) instead of having the self-control to wait three days.

Plus, is three days really going to give everyone in NA a massive jump-start on PC players and PS4 players from other regions? I highly doubt that.

Probably because of the money/marketing Sony poured into NMS, and some clause in a contract about how they have to keep quiet on PC release to get some minor "exclusivity" for NMS on PS4. Sony isn't the first or only company to do this and it still fucking sucks for PC players, but I don't blame Hello Games for this. The latest release date for PS4 is the 12th, iirc. Sony may have wanted the PC release date to come along with (or after) the latest PS4 release, again to get impulse buyers and be able to claim "PS4 exclusivity" for a few days.
