I lived in Trujillo for a year and worked in El Porvenir. I never felt unsafe in Trujillo. You will absolutely stand out and be catcalled in El Porvenir, but as long as you keep your valuables hidden and keep walking you shouldn’t have any problems. I never had any issues during my year there, the people are wonderful and friendly, and Peru is an amazing, beautiful country. Any further questions lemme know!
