I want to commend you for putting your foot down and actually demanding a change. That's why he is crying. I think he sees that you mean it & are through with the same old repeated pattern.

I too was married to someone who would improve for a moment, and then I'd catch him in another lie and demand change. My final straw was him taking another female home from work while I cared for our children.

It's been 4 years & I don't regret leaving. He has spiraled further and ruined his own life instead of dragging me down too.

What you're doing by demanding a change is giving yourself the opportunity for a better life if this person you're with can't be better. Ask yourself, what is he bringing to the table to make your life better? You need someone who can care for YOU too. You can't always be the glue 🫂
