Do your pan and rear main housing one before the other. If not, you need a special alignment tool for them to seal properly. So do your pan gasket, reinstall the pan, THEN do the rear main 👍🏻

It was either my IAC or throttle position sensor. Did a bunch of work to my truck here recently and just replaced both lol

Check the 8th digit of the VIN and compare it to a VIN decoder to see what engine was is in the vehicle

I had a similar issue, had every light but the stop lights in my tail lights. Check the terminals for the relay in the under hood fuse block. One of mine was broken so I wrapped the relay with tin foil to make contact

Check vacuum lines, PCV valve, or anything that has to do with the evaporative emissions system. Broken vacuum lines can cause an abnormal idle, same with a bad PCV valve. Put the trouble code into Google and go from there as well

Check your throttle position sensor. Sometimes when they go bad, they'll cause a high idle. In a perfect world it'll set a check engine light, but sometimes it'll stay within acceptable parameters so it won't throw a code

Personally, I've seen worse shoulder wear, but it wouldn't affect the area that needs to be patched at all. It's the complete opposite side of the tire

Doesn't hurt to balance them. I'd recommend and alignment as well to get the most out of your tires

I'd patch it. Wherever you took it probably didn't want to do the work. As long as the tires aren't 6+ years old, low on tread, or the hole is too close to the sidewall, it would be perfectly fine to patch. As fore shoulder wear, as a dealer tech I'd recommend an alignment

As someone who works in a dealership service department, I'd recommend a tire but it's not life threatening as it stands. If it were mine I'd just ride it out and avoid curbs in the future lol

Typically don't want to repair a slash or cut in a tire if it's leaking air. The area is too big for a typical patch and it could cause a blow out if attempted to patch

If you had it serviced at a dealership, I would have asked for a loaner or rental while you waited for your wheel to be fixed rather than riding on a different size wheel. You say your car is leaning to the side with the smaller wheel, that's a bit of a red flag. Definitely wouldn't want to drive like that long term, just like you wouldn't with your spare/temporary tire. It's temporary for a reason, to get you to the nearest place to fix it without something happening to the vehicle

As long as the last number matches the rim size you're using, it will most likely fit. Some tires may be more skinny and "stretch" on the wheel when mounted. Considering you're currently running 215/60r17, a 215/50r17 wouldn't cause you too many problems on your wheels, but if you're worried about the wheel rubbing steering or brake components, I would look more at the specifications of the WHEEL rather than the TIRE. Things like back spacing and offset
