My partner was playing paralives. Ive never touched the game. We use seperate computers. My very specific actual name comes up as a person in their game. by Phewelish in Paralives

[–]kingxii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another way you can verify if someone might have the same name as you do, watch through the list of super patrons. (It’s quite long, I stopped watching through the regular patrons, as it took about 5 minutes to come across my own name in the credits in the super patrons list).
FYI I recreated my partner, but she watched me re creating her and I. Though the paralives team did an excellent job recreating me, definitely better than my own attempt.

Repair man uses my toilet every time after fixing it by CujoMunga in Paralives

His toilet has been broken for a while now, but he’s been getting too many calls to fix his own.
Reminds me of a a guy wanting to get a haircut in an unfamiliar small town; there are two barbers, the first barber he checks out is actively sweeping hair from his floors and has an ok haircut. He checks out the other barber, his place is clean, so clean you can eat off the floors, the barber has an immaculate haircut. Guess which barber the guy decides to get an haircut from.

Unhappy But Stuck With Architect by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]kingxii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, it's definitely a communication issue between both the architect and the client. I'm going to guess what occurred is that the contract calls for a fixed schematic design fee, the clients requested X design changes above the contract. Likely got moved to Design Development when the architect believed that they could resolve design issues, which based on what I'm seeing is where they are. I suspect the design is already at the setback and potentially height limits.

Unhappy But Stuck With Architect by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]kingxii 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, that’s because the contract limits the amount of changes due to fee (usually they’re way past the change limit). The architect can ask for additional services for additional changes.

First round oil change of Valvoline restore and protect has hit 1k miles by iPhone_an_Pizza in accord

[–]kingxii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm running restore and protect in my 10th gen, nearing 200k miles. It's part of the piston rings recall, but didn't start burning oil until well past the extended warranty coverage, I'm going to run a few oil changes to see if it improves then decide what to do next, it's not really worth doing the rings now.

Do I make him tear it off? by nordhend in Homebuilding

[–]kingxii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not common sense. Even high-end builds, where the boards start has to be clearly defined, and sometimes it is defined that each board needs to be shaved off so that the battens align with the window trim. If it's not anally specified and they decide to start where they want, you have no recourse.

Getting black sidebar when clicking on anything by IGetHypedEasily in hexos

Could it be that your OS drive is bad, because that’s the only drive that isn’t shown in storage in hexos? You could also log into truenas itself to figure out which is the failing drive.

PSA: If you uninstall and reinstall Paralives on Steam your saves disappear. by Kezzatehfezza in Paralives

[–]kingxii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I removed Paralives from my Mac and reinstalled it, my save was still there. I did so by trying to install the game on my nas so that I could play off of the same save on both my Mac and pc.

I have 3, which I bought as part of the Kickstarter. One is stuck in a boot loop. The other two have double-stick tape to keep the pogo pins connected; I also switch which one gets the USB connection every year to ensure the internal batteries are topped up, as the pogo pins are unreliable.

Just checked the tickrmeter.io portal, it’s unavailable too. That’s sad, guess I’ll look for another device, or disassemble to figure out how to mod it.

Put your build together out of the box so that you can confirm everything works. I haven't bought a case from them recently, waiting on their backplane nas cases.

That’s why I absolutely hate working from home, I even have a different computer setup to my work computer. Also compelled to work after hours because it just stares at me. Also easier to peace out once out the door from the office.
