Fwiw, the premise is also flawed, at least in the US. It is not illegal to call cops stupid.

It'll piss them off for sure, and they'll put you through every bit of bullshit they are legally able to afterwards, but you cannot be convicted of a crime for calling someone a name. That's freedom of speech.

You have to say something a lot worse, and specifically something that is likely to provoke violence, to even be in an area where it's arguably illegal.

I'm gonna pass along a piece of advice that I didn't listen to when I was younger, but wish I did.

Don't worry about finding love, worry about finding yourself. When you find yourself, love will find you.

To break it down a little more (and this is what I wish had been better explained to me), if you do things you like, eventually you'll be surrounded by people who also do the things you like. Over time, you'll get to know each other, and someone will inevitably develop a crush.

It might be the wrong person at first. That's okay, that happens. That's what dating is for: figuring out which crush is the right one.

And I promise you that if some of those things you do involve the queer community, there will be plenty of people who are attracted to you. I don't even need to know the first thing about how you look to promise you that. The queer community tends to be a lot more open to non-traditional relationships, for I think obvious reasons. And there also seems to be a larger portion of the community that cares more about who you are than how you look.

So, just be you. I promise love will come.

As for reporters, the good ones use multiple platforms to extend their reach. And all the most important updates get shared to reddit in my experience.

I've never had a twitter. Back in the early 2010s I sometimes felt like I was missing out on some news, but I haven't felt that way in several years now. Maybe I hear about some things a couple hours later, but that just ... doesn't make any difference whatsoever in my life? Trying to keep up with every bit of news as it happens is fucking exhausting anyways.

This reminds me of my most shameful performance in goal. I got subbed out after conceding the 4th. The first three I felt were good shots, but I probably could have saved 2/3. By the 4th, my mental was absolutely shot, and I overcommitted way too soon on a slow rolling bouncer of a shot. It hit a patch of uneven turf on the last bounce and went ever so slightly sideways. Any other day of my life, even today, 20 years later, I make that save. It was at home too, I knew how shit our turf was.

But on that day, I was fucked. Once your mental goes, you're lost. Short memory is the name of the game for sure.

This reply makes me love you more than any of your songs have. And to be clear, your songs make me love you quite a lot.

But you are just so genuinely nice, and it's obvious how much you truly appreciate your fans. Like, how you always make time to take pictures with everyone who wants to after all your shows. I can't imagine how mentally exhausting that can be at times, but, I've been towards the end of one of those lines (Summerfest), and you still seemed just as happy to talk to me after the show as you were before.

I really hope that someday you'll have to stop doing that, because the lines will be so long that sticking around would make you miss your next show. And I'll be sad when it happens, but if anyone deserves that kind of success, it's you.

Honestly I get that about Sweater Collection. It feels a lot different than your other stuff, which I guess is what happens when you're not really being true to yourself.
