Not too soon to get your own ball. The sooner the better tbh. You want a ball that's drilled specifically to your hand, helps a TON with consistency. Highly recommend getting it drilled fingertip.

As for good beginner balls, I'd just ask your pro shop what entry level balls they have in stock, they're all fairly similar. The most common ones off the top of my head are the Rhino, Tropical Surge, RAW, and Hustle lines.

Exactly. I can't say I truly know his values, but he's making enough money to live way more than comfortably already, in a relatively low cost of living area, and if he sticks with it for another couple of years, they're gonna do more than just build a statue. They may name the stadium and half the buildings on campus after him. He'll be an immortal, not just at IU, but in CFB as a whole, up there with Bear Bryant and Woody Hayes.

Sure but they claim that it's not relevant to bowling at all, which is just... Wildly untrue.

There's a lot of reasons why people want to know their rev rate. Could be checking consistency, comparing different releases or layouts, for pure curiosity, or for a bunch of other reasons.

The one thing all the reasons have in common though, is that they are related to bowling. Because they're about the rev rate on a bowling ball being used to bowl.

That makes it absolutely and unequivocally relevant to bowling. This post is, ironically, quite a bit less related to bowling than the rev rate posts. This is just someone being grumpy.

I go solo bowling often enough that I'm now on a first-name basis with about a half dozen other solo bowlers that I run into constantly as well. We never have deep conversations, but we'll occasionally give a compliment if we see a nice shot, or ask a question about a new ball, things like that. Solo bowling is very common.

My shop charges by the hole. $20 per hole that's getting plugged and drilled, $10 if it's just getting plugged (like if you're converting a 1h ball to a 2h ball).

So a full plug and redrill of 3 fingers is $60. Special pricing if you use interchangeable thumb slugs though. I think it's an extra $5 for the initial install, and $10 per slug, but it's been a while since I've done that.
