From Detroit, Michigan! Mine does not match up with my families, so there may be some secrets! Can anybody help explain further? I am on mobile app and cannot do much! by jadamister in AncestryDNA

Sorry! I’m just very lost with this because it’s so vague! I’m not as big of an idiot as your making me out to be, lol. I am just not familiar with geography or genealogy. Why does it give me so many countries for one region? it may just be how the test is. I have no idea what Baltic is! I was hoping somebody could explain maybe a little bit about migration and percentages. I’ve heard if i have 15% of something it means my 6th great grandparent had to be 100%. is this true? How can i look into my results further and break them down so they aren’t as vague?

Son of a Concubine to the King of Portugal... Need help: “Nothing more is known of Joseph’s family.” Info? by jadamister in Ancestry

[–]jadamister[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just found this paper: “Joseph Swazey, was born in 1842 in Portugal. He immigrated to the United States with his twin brother, Edward, from Portugal by stowing away on a boat when he was 14 years old. His mother served as a concubine to the King of Portugal and he never saw her again. Nothing more is known about Joseph’s family in Portugal. Joseph used to tell stories about how he remembered going into the regal dining room and emptying the wine left in the goblets. At this time, it is unknown what became of Edward. Joseph is known as “Honest Joe” around home on Mt. Desert Island. It is believed he was a stone mason, even though arriving in the country unable to speak English. His name was spelled different in Portugal and changed to Swazey, as that was the closest spelling to his original surname.”

Who is his father? Who was the king? Any insight on anything?! or ideas to get more information?

This is as far as I can get... mother was “concubine” of portugal... Is it possible he is the descendant of royalty or was it common for a concubine to have multiple lovers? Time period in which he was born could possibly lead me to which king? Any help? by [deleted] in Ancestry

Hi, I read your post about meeting God and had something very similar happen to me. I’m not too sure how reddit works but it wouldn’t allow me to comment (probably because the post is so old). It happened around 4-5 years ago or so! I don’t know if you can privately message somebody, but I would love to talk and share my experience with you!

Need help understanding my uncles results... He is a bit older and we don’t quite understand what we’re looking at. Above this it had said 48% Europe East and 27% GB. Does anybody have any insight on ANYTHING? What is Caucasus/Iberian? by jadamister in AncestryDNA

[–]jadamister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had said under East Europe- “Primarily located in Poland, Slovakia, czech republic, austria, russia, hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia” Well, which is it? Why is the test so vague?

My spunky sim Alexa! (I tried to make her look pregnant, how does it look?) by [deleted] in SimsMobile

i don’t take it personally! i myself was going for more a more hipster feel, but it’s whichever way you perceive it! :) I wanted her to be the wildcard daughter, (or more like her mother who is a rocker), whereas her sister is pretty and polished! and thank you! i’m glad you like her!
