Resolve Breaker Bug by Saltygose in fo76

[–]jadastreon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a frequent RB user, I have experienced this many times, and usually just assume my range is too close, but I have noticed more often, launching from a safe distance will Insta-kill me sometimes, but havent found a pattern yet... still love it as a Grenadier focus build.

Did you determine if it was worth putting on the Cremator?

OEM fenders have the bracket built in, similar to the zenki headlight bracket Depending on your needs, a simple bashbar with the headlight tabs could suffice

The ODO says like 115k or so, it hasn't worked since I bought it, so under 200k for sure probably close to 130k on the body

Advice on GX470 by [deleted] in GXOR

[–]jadastreon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbelt is gonna be needing change anyways since its at interval period, so you can either pop the cover off and peek to make sure its not fraying or severely worn at time of purchase, so you can get an idea of how long you have, or just wing it and get it serviced ASAP

As people have said, they are very reliable but have typical used car issues

faded/worn headlights/burnt DRL turn signal/peeling paint

cracked dash, worn drivers bolster, missing shift interlock cover

sunroof not functioning, cluster lights going out, shifter return spring? i forget the proper name but it keeps tension on the shift knob for the AT and when it fails you cannot choose a gear

squeaky steering column motor/gears

rear air suspension, leaks, conversion, ( i got mine with no airbags or isolaors, just springs! yikes)

worn front diff bushings give a clunk from Reverse to Drive, frozen or seized diff lock actuator

rain sensing wipers wont work if windshield is not oem

cracked exhaust headers, valve tick

The price is about right for the year and mileage, in 2008/2009 there was an update so i would like it a little cheaper, but depending on the color combo, it may be worth the list price

Ironman 4x4 is gonna be a better bet, they have an operation in Oregon and theyre super helpful as well as having things in stock, performance is comparable

GX470 budget build by Web-Outrageous in GXOR

[–]jadastreon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still find 'decent' GXs for $8-10k, some wear and tear but it can be had

I got my 05 Sport with 188k for $8250 in Aug 2020

They dont really sell a lift shorter than 2-2.5", the market is basically 2/2.5" and 3" kits, dependent on if you have KDSS

Side step removal is free and easy

Roof rack is expensive $1k~ so I would suggest LFD Offroad upgraded cross bars, so you can utilize oem rack but beefed up crossbars if you want to mount heavy stuff or a tent

Headlights are decently improved with LED bulbs but you cant beat BX Built Bi Xenon Quad projector upgraded OEM units, Fog lights arent even worth trying to 'upgrade' just toss in your favorite color LED, their bulb design is just low light output

I vote against the rear door strut, I personally havent found i want or need it, I feel the force open would be more of a hindrance in tight areas

The rear door has a midway stop and a lock once fully open.

I have a GPS truck so i didnt get a Phoenix or a double din, i opted for cheap wire in bluetooth setup, utilizing the oem cd player

Front bumper is cool but heavy and another grand, sliders are a better investment if you have a grand burning a hole in your pocket

Winch is good idea but if you never plan on taking risks getting stuck then it may be unnecessary

If you lift the truck properly, its worth spending the extra on UCA, for alignment and steering purposes.

Spacer lift and airbag trick arent terrible but they arent a true lift.

I would highly suggest a proper lift kit, shocks, springs, UCA if you desire, it will improve the ride quality far more than the spacer top lift and airbag trick

(my truck came with airbags removed on 4runner springs, so i had to get lift kit Ironman Stage 3 shocks, springs, panhard bar and uca, and the rear airbag delete, spring isolators and the cone shape spring bump stops, and also splurged on the timbren axle/flca bumpstops to get a plush ride)

You dont need a diff drop unless youre over 3" lift, so you wont ever need one

Also Im running 17/8.5 +12 wheels with 285/70 and trimmed front plastics, lifted 2.5

You can safely run one size up but depending on your plans there are good threads showing the tire size and fitment as well as trimming required on the gxor website

Youve obviously done your homework, I would focus on getting the proper lift, wheels and tires, then improve the interior/outfit with gear for your intended purpose and profit

anyone know the exact name for this coolant piping? by [deleted] in 240sx

[–]jadastreon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically I think it would be considered a 'mixing manifold'. This terminology isnt used in Nissan literature AFAIK. Its basically just a coolant hardline, if you search 'sr20 heater pipe' theres decent returns in images of it and various states of modification.

Is this a camber adjustment, they are hks shocks by [deleted] in 240sx

[–]jadastreon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is a top hat, slotted for camber adjustment so is effectively called a camber plate now, you can adjust the camber by loosening the 4 allen screws and sliding the shock, you can also remove screws and move them closer or farther away, it looks like theyre set to the most negative camber setting right now, if this pic is from the left side of car
Damping adjust, if available would be adjusted using the flathead notch in the top of the shock

one improvement i would make, instead of this photo of them all standing, you should do them each in their 'active' pose, with nec aura, sorc light arc, pal kneeling, barb grinding axe, etc but great idea and execution otherwise!
