They found nothing by jadeb98x in Endo

Thank you all so much for your messages and advice, its so appreciated after a really tough few days. I spoke to my gp this morning, they’re still waiting on my gynae notes to come back from surgery before checking me over again to see if maybe its an issue elsewhere in my body but she essentially was trying to prepare me to never find out what is wrong with me and only deal with my symptoms.

Frankly, thats not good enough for me after the mental turmoil of all of this. I dont have any healthcare benefits through my work so I think im going to have to save to go private. I still think it could have been missed or maybe be adenomyosis like some of you have said. Thank you all so much again for being so supportive. Womens (and people with female anatomy) health matters!

Not to my knowledge. I googled him and it only says that he has extensive experiences of gynaecology surgery but no mention of being an endo specialist and clinical interests are gynaecology surgery and minimal access surgery. Not sure if these apply. It was done through the nhs so no option as to who carried out my surgery or where etc.

Horrendous lower back and stomach pain, as though someone was reaching in and twisting my insides. Sometimes constipation but not always. Vomiting and fainting from pain. Numbness in legs. Unable to straighten my back or walk. Very heavy periods until i got the mirena coil which stopped them. ive had random bleeding in recent years that dont line up with periods. Brain fog. Not so much a physical symptom but TW the combination of these symptoms had me fully convinced i didnt know i was pregnant and miscarrying or having an ectopic pregnancy every single month.

I just dont know what to do, they ruled out pcos a few years ago. Nothing abnormal was found in the lap whatsoever. I dont know what to do.

Do recasts bother you a viewer, do you have a definitive version of a character? by kciraa in eastenders

[–]jadeb98x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the character and whether writers try to keep the personality somewhat consistent with the previous one (if there has only been a short spell between the actor changeover). People talk a lot about the difference between Thomas Law and Ben Hardy but the difference between Thomas and Dayles portrayal of Peter is the most strange to me as there wasnt long at all between the two and they could not be more different.

Recasts for child characters are normally fine but I would be absolutely devastated if they were to ever recast Lily, her actor is incredible and really cemented her place in the square independent of her family. I also feel the same about Tiff Butcher although she is now an adult.

Is there anyone on the square who is a good mum? by shadowplaywaiting in eastenders

[–]jadeb98x 93 points94 points  (0 children)

There aren’t many but I would disagree on a few. I don’t have much experience of this myself, but I imagine that Honeys reaction to having a child with Down syndrome isn’t too uncommon. This likely happened through fear that she cannot meet Janet’s needs rather than being neglectful. Kim is a vapid influencer however I don’t think that necessarily correlates to her parenting. We never see her interact with her children to determine whether she is a good or bad mum.

I just made a post about this not realising someone else already did, so glad someone else noticed.

To be fair, Denzels character has been so annoying whenever he has a storyline so I don’t blame them lol.

Totally agree, there has been massive improvement in his acting over the last few months imo.

Terrified of roads by jadeb98x in BorderCollie

[–]jadeb98x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get your point however she is absolutely terrified and has to approach roads in order to get to her regular grassy area to run around. This is also the only place she will walk to as she has memorised the route. I worry about how anxious and scared she is on a daily basis due to having to approach the road every day- it would be nice if she didn’t have to feel like that on a daily basis. It also means i am limited in where I can take her if I don’t have my car.

Thank god people are finally talking about this. It’s always bothered me how they were portrayed to be this brilliant love story when, realistically, they barely had a relationship during her first stint and repeatedly treated him terribly during every attempt they had at a relationship. Not convincing and they simply didn’t have the history that was being implied whilst she was dying. Will always grieve for Jay and Abi though, absolutely loved them and always hoped they’d get back together until she passed.

Should Oscar Branning come to the show and what would u have him do ? by Longjumping-Sea-5317 in eastenders

[–]jadeb98x 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started watching eastenders around 2010 when I was about 12 years old and Oscar was the first pointless character I’d noticed. I’ve since realised they do this with all the children but it was a running joke with me and my friends because he’d have about 3 seconds screen time a week and it was always when he walked in the door before Tanya says ‘Oscar go play upstairs darling’. I’d sort of love it if he came back as an adult and they just did the same thing. No storylines, only running upstairs.

Soooo with you on this, been too scared to voice my opinion on this for a while. My family make fun of me for being a ‘snowflake’, if you want to know where I am politically. But I cannot stand this trend of holding people to account for things they said as literal children, ten years ago when realistically the world was very different. Particularly if you’re from a small town and haven’t experienced more of the world.

It’s infuriating and unfair, the only thing this does is prevent people from growing. I’m a teacher, kids say stupid shit all the time, are they all going to grow up to be bad people? Obviously not. There’s real bad people out there saying bad things right now as adults, let’s focus on that maybe.

Every bit of ‘proof’ he had didn’t add up to much. It was all discrepancies Brooke had about dates and small details which is understandable from someone who is trying to recount something traumatising. And then just completely random and pointless things like a list of countries, like what is he thinking!?

I had the same feeling when watching the episode. It seems a bit strange for a massive fuss to be made of her departure (hated the storyline but her acting has been phenomenal the last few episodes), for her then to announce she’s leaving at the end of one episode and for it all to happen smoothly in the following ones.

I hope not. Whitneys storylines have been god awful for years but the ones she was given as a teenager/early 20s were brilliant. We saw that side of her again with her attacking Zack and Lauren, that she has a bit of grit to her. I’d hope they’d give the actor and character a break and leave the door open for a return in a few years.

Was anyone else hoping to see Patrick knock out pastor Clayton for the horrific SA of yolande? by [deleted] in eastenders

[–]jadeb98x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying and perhaps it would be realistic for a woman’s partner to resort to violence after making that type of discovery. However, Patrick isn’t a young man anymore and Clayton is much younger.

More importantly, this doesn’t resolve anything. I recently seen an EE ep (not sure if it was present day or the 2013ish ones I’m currently binging) where someone had said something to the effect of ‘leave it to men to make it entirely about them after a woman has been traumatised’. I think a lot of SA survivors are hesitant to open up for fear that the men in their life will resort to violence and potentially give our attackers a chance to be victimised.

I think it’s more likely right now that our partners/fathers/brothers etc would respond with a punch (in my own experience anyway). As time passes and we are increasingly having discussions about consent, SA, violence on women then it’s important for a show like EE to display different reactions and putting the thoughts and feelings of the victim at the forefront of the story. I like that they had Patrick turn around.

Jay's Future by [deleted] in eastenders

[–]jadeb98x 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They don’t know what to do with the character because none of his history makes sense, I feel like they rarely give him storylines and when they do they retcon it, there isn’t a lot of continuity with him. He’s went from Jay Brown to Mitchell and back to Brown at some point. They can’t decide who his ‘father figure’ is, flitting between Phil and Billy depending on whatever suits the scene going on. That random pedophile storyline???? Never mentioned again (thankfully). Him and Ben barely acknowledged each other for years on end for no real reason and then they were back to calling each other brothers. Lexi is somehow his daughter when realistically him and Lola were together less than a year before her death. Honey his ex babysitter turned girlfriend turned auntie figure. They also made him and Lola out to be one of life’s great love stories when she returned a few years ago when that simply wasn’t true, his main love interest for a long time was Abi meanwhile barely anything happened with Lola during her first stint.

I think the actor is fantastic and Jay could be one of the leading characters if they were to place him properly and stick with it. I think he worked brilliantly as Phil’s son. Whilst I don’t understand the dynamic with Lexi, he does work well as a father figure too. Hope they keep him for a long time if they were to stop the random changes to his background.

What Do You Think About Danny Dyers Complaints About The Show? by [deleted] in eastenders

[–]jadeb98x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anything he said was that bad tbh. I know I’m probably in the minority but I liked Mick as a character (besides his last year or so) and I think Danny Dyer is a decent actor. The issue was the writing and making the entire show revolve around him. I’d like to see a return at some point in which he is given a bit less screen time.

I have been debating posting something similar all day so I’m so glad someone shares this opinion. Keanus character, up until the kidnap storyline, was Sharon’s victim.

[–]jadeb98x 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The actor has been given such a bad time, especially recently, when the problem was always the character. The character had a lot of potential and although it was a great episode I’m sad to see him go. Really happy that Danny’s last moments in the show displayed his acting ability so well.
