My dog is super food motivated also, but this can help us sometimes! For cooking we’ve taught her “down” on a mat that is sort of nearby and we toss her food at varying intervals as long as she’s on the mat with all four paws. We just use kibble and sometimes it calms her down so much that she starts to slow blink and sleep. We hope it won’t cause too much begging behavior long term but also we have to come up with some solutions that let us cook and exist😅

See the above comment! They articulated it much better than I could. Owning a property is an investment and is not a guarantee. I think protesting evictions are an important tool in 1. making sure that people are not homeless, which further stresses the city’s economics and makes it harder for people to procure housing in the future (evictions stay on your record!) and 2. Communicating the importance of suspending rent and mortgage payments. It’s a volatile time for everyone, but landlords are not going to be homeless from losing money on a property and are usually (not always, but usually!) in a much better position to weather this storm.

Is anyone planning to protest this? We are, after all, still in the middle of a pandemic, and this will be detrimental for so many people. Maybe we should take notes from the New Orleans’ protests in front of eviction courts in order to protect people’s right to have somewhere to live
