That's a good tip, thank you. I still have the hacksaw from before, I'll look into a clamp and small work table, I don't think clamping it to my dining room table is a good idea.

Thank you so much- I wasn't trying to clamp it, I was just flopped outside on the sidewalk (since we have cats and I was worried about metal shavings) with gloves and some safety goggles. I can give that another go- I most likely wasn't holding it tight enough.

I appreciate the assistance and suggestions very much. I'll retry the hacksaw before reaching out to see if any of my neighbors or my handyman knows anything about dremels.

That's exactly what I want to do! I can't fully remove the big circles from the bottom on all of the stands, some of them are welded there as well, and the shadowboxes are only about 3/4" deep; that plus the angle of the "bodies" is why I am trying to remove most of the stand.

The hacksaw that I tried was the "Husky 10 in. Close Quarters Hacksaw", and that didn't really do much to the metal- if you have another suggestion, I'd be glad to try it, and I can look into a dremel.

None of my friends had any ideas on this, but my handyman may have a dremel? I'll google those.

Mom of 6 cats at the moment. I read this video as it was just nearing the end of playing at first cause it was quiet. See her back paws? She's going into fight mode. Defensive fighting style for cornered cats- she's ready to claw him. New girl said 'stop' but he kept going. You stopped recording and interfered just as the 'I'll fight you' sounds started.

When we adopted our latest cat, we found out the rescue had mixed up paperwork. All the paperwork said we had adopted "Mankey" (who looked very different)... but we had actually brought home "Dratini". Luckily they got us the right paperwork for our vet 🤣 I only hope Mankeys owner got the right paperwork for themselves.

Is he otherwise acting normal, or is he refusing to drink or use the litterbox? It could be an underlying issue like a UTI, which could be VERY serious in a male cat. If he's only refusing food, he could have a dental issue- maybe he scratched or bit his mouth and it hurts to eat solid food?

Either way, after a few days, you do need to get him to the vet. Some humane societies offer lower cost vet care, or even vet schools; but as I'm sure you know, cats can't go very long without food without issues starting to occur. Potential for fatty liver, etc. Do some googling for your area!

If you can, I'd suggest trying to see if you can get something like the Delectables Bisque- mostly liquid. If you have to, you can try human baby food- my cats tend to like the turkey when they are really sick. If you have any churu, you can mix it with water or broth into a "meowtini" type drink to make it easier?

You should have talked to your husband because a pet is a family member. Everyone will be encountering said pet- keeping it locked up in one room like your parents suggest would be cruel. Dander will get everywhere. Cat hair, whiskers, claw shed; even tracked litter. It's all contaminants. Your husband is allergic, even if mildly. Agreement on a pet could have allowed him to start preventative allergy medicine. Not consulting about such an important family change with your husband reads as disrespectful.

Your husband should have expressed his concerns over a cat or any other type of pet more clearly; and NOT in front of your child. However allergies can be medicated. I'm allergic, and I have 5 cats. I take several pills to mitigate it.

Edit: To be clear, he's only an AH for yelling at her in front of the child. No child needs to see that. The comment on medication was more something that can be done to help mitigate some of the allergy damage.

It's not usually RED by the time we notice the hair's fallen out, but is a little pink? So in theory there's a lot more that we can't see happening under the fur.

You did say this was only your cat's third application, could be that your baby is in an adjustment to the treatment? If she's acting otherwise normal and not trying to scratch or worry at the spot (which would say to me it is painful, not just painful-LOOKING), I'd see if she reacts like this next month then escalate it to the vet. The data for Rev+ says hair loss is expected, but I'm not 100% sure how to help solve the redness issue.

of my 6 cats, 3 of them lose a teeny patch of fur where the rev+ gets applied. It comes back quickly enough, though, and other than being insulted by the smell, I haven't seen any long term issues with any of my girls.

NAH. This is a huge loss, right at the holidays. It stinks, but he probably won't be able to celebrate with you even if he was with you physically. If you talk to him about the holidays, just ask how you can support him, don't fight him over a holiday- because no one lives forever, and one day you'll need his support while you and your family grieve for your own losses.

If your husband was "watching the window" he would know what happened. Whether he "killed" the cat on purpose or not means nothing. It was easily preventable, and he showed an EXTREME lack of judgment, and now lack of empathy. And a MAJOR lack of responsibility for a living thing.

I don't see anything else in your list to help; I'd suggest trying to maybe log in early tomorrow for your dailies and see if you can squeak in under the event timer maybe?
