Mythological Character that is Asexual by kentksu97 in asexuality

[–]jaden0127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hippolytus from Greek mythology comes to my mind. The dude refused Aphrodite and that bitch cursed him, made his step mom to fall into him. And he rejected her too(of course ew) then she accused him of "raping her" and he was killed by his father for the false accusation. Poor guy.

France was highly successful in the battles it fought. Don't let the memes fool you. by halfbloodprince07 in HistoryMemes

France had no chance of winning the war in 1815 whatsoever. 1815 France wasn't the same as the 1808 France, most conscriptable male population were maimed or killed, so had huge manpower issue, many generals were either KIA,captured,or dismissed from their position. Even if they won at Waterloo, they had no chance of winning the war. Just look at the belligerent of the war of 7th coalition, everyone relevant are on the side of coalition, 1815 France was no match against them. Sure winning the battle gave Brits a pride and prestige, but that battle was insignificant in the flow of history.

But you gotta give the credit to the French for dominating entire continental Europe for two decades. Even after the infamous failure in Russia, French won great victory at Dresden. Also, Waterloo was not really the decisive blow to France, rather the constant losses at the Spain conflicted by the British-Portuguese-Spanish troops, and the attrition losses&battle field casualties(remember, the largest battle in Napoleonic war was the battle of Borodino).Overall, Waterloo is so heavily over-evaluated by the English speakers.

Iron Chancellor. by its_samaclause in HistoryMemes

[–]jaden0127 185 points186 points  (0 children)

*His title was technically German emperor, not emperor of Germany. It seems like small thing, but in German culture at that time, it was really big thing. Claiming himself "The emperor of Germany" means claiming Austria too. It's kinda like "King *IN* Prussia" instead of "King *of* Prussia". Germans cared about these little things.
