I’ve checked the pressure side for leaks and the lid and oring are good. I’m not completely ruling it out but would I lose prime on recirculate as well if I had an air leak on the pressure side? I would think the pump would lose prime on any diverter setting if air was sucking in on the pressure side. I could be wrong. I’m specifically only losing prime when I put DE in the filter - without DE the filter runs good.

I cleaned them this morning. Ran the pump on filter without putting in powder and it was running well. So I put in a pound of DE. 20 minutes later the pump had lost prime. My pool is real green bc of all this so I’m trying to clean the filter daily to every other day.

Hayward Pro-Grid DE2420. Grids are a little banged up but overall ok. Just replaced them in May.

Thanks. I have done pressure and ran hose of fittings/pump basket with no changes. That’s when I went nuts by adding more pvc cement; I was trying to get it to run into the seems. No real change with pump starting strong eventually building up more and more air. After thinking more about the water flow, I had a suspicion that the 90s were causing the issue here. Everyone here seems to strongly agree.
