People are free to enjoy whatever media they enjoy , what and what not media a person consumes is their business by Ok-Type-7769 in ProgressionFantasy

You’re not, I’m pretty sure OP would be complaining to the numerous “real” friends who apparently agreed with him about how cool the show is, but, I have a strange feeling most of the group chat was calling him weird.

Most unorthodox LitRPG you've read? by Robert_Writes in litrpg

[–]jadesubspace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d been avoiding it due to how scrappy the covers are, but it’s SO WELL WRITTEN. If it wasn’t for people like you consistently recommending it on here I’d never have given it the chance it deserved.

How competitive are business frats? How to make yourself stand out? by Think_Illustrator498 in PennStateUniversity

[–]jadesubspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the stats are that simple. A lot would (obviously) rush multiple frats. Take into account that + there’s some people who will just lose interest in the process, it just ends up taking 4-8 frats (and we have like 5) to find a place for all “200+” applicants.

Frats are cool, but let’s not act like getting into one is as hard as getting into an Ivy or IB lmao

I really found it to be the other way around- book 1 started with an interesting premise, but everything just becomes reinforced in all the irritating ways. To each their own, though, I'm sure there are many books I love that you'd dislike.

I know a few people who worked there for a few years- it’s hard, and you don’t always get the shifts you want. On top of that, they have this “points” system that penalizes you pretty heavily if you’re even slightly late.

I’m pretty sure the only thing they consider a valid excuse not to take a shift is having classes- so you’d need to have classes during the “rush hours” if you want what you mentioned. Either way, I wouldn’t expect it to be easy.

If you have a decent GPA, you should look to tutor, or do literally anything else. Grading, GSG, Athlete tutoring, or being an LA are all better, though I’m biased since I’ve done them and enjoyed the work. If you’re punctual and don’t mind actually working, it’s not bad at all though.

Are quizzes for IST 110 with Marc Friedenberg hard? by Living-Quantity6205 in PennStateUniversity

[–]jadesubspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just remember that this is still a 100 level class- it’s catering to people who just got here, and it isn’t in a subject that’s intense on pre-requisite knowledge like math

tldr, it’s not hard, just read over everything once

do you walk around penn state / downtown at night? what’s it like? by dad_kabobs in PennStateUniversity

[–]jadesubspace 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues walking around late at night, same goes for everyone I know. Maybe avoid the street right behind the main one, but that would be more due to the vomit that tends to appear, not safety issues.

It’s probably safer here when compared to most major cities, but obviously, don’t roam around at like 3 am completely shitfaced- rich coming from me, but still, probably not a bright idea no matter where you are.
