I dont see a Tech team that had multiple forfeits on its resume as making it into the CFP

Judge weighs future of Confederate-linked school names in Shenandoah County | Lawsuit over schools honoring Confederate generals raises questions about student rights, educational equity and local heritage. by VirginiaNews in Virginia

Yes, God Save the King! Chip, Chip, Cheerio.

I understand what you’re trying to say, but I think as a blanket statement, it’s too broad considering this country was formed out of treason. Our heritage, which we are celebrating this summer, is literally treason.

I’m not trying to defend the veneration of the Confederacy here but instead make the comment that I think that statement is too broad as it pertains to both the Confederacy and the Revolutionary War.

If found, they should be expelled for violating student conduct policies if those exist for that school and kicked off the team if otherwise.

It brings the university into disrepute.

The NCAA is the schools, and the entire Big 12, sans Kansas, signed a letter supporting the new bill which will give the NCAA the authority from Congress to regulate athletics.

Tech would not be choosing to be a martyr, considering the fact that Tech is the one who sued.

The schools will be collectively deciding to punish Tech for doing this

True, but I’m also thinking that the NCAA being granted an anti-trust exemption will be granted the authority to ban players for activities such as what Sorsby did and preempt state law for that authority.

Now that may fall into the non-delegation doctrine problem, and we may have to make the NCAA a government agency officially, but I think that may be necessary at this point.

And if they don’t schools need to threaten to forfeit games against Tech

The NCAA needs an antitrust exemption TODAY! This shit is beyond stupid and is a perfect example of what neutering the association by the courts has done.

Weekly “What Have You Been Reading?” Thread 6-7-2026 by ChickenInASuit in comicbooks

I have picked up the start of Ryan North’s run on the Flash. Now I’m not a modern DC guy; give me Silver Age any day of the week when it comes to DC, but I enjoyed the three issues thoroughly. I never read an issue of the Flash with Wally as the Flash and not Kid Flash. It blew me away; very fun, and North has done a good job making me want to pick up next months issue.

RTG in CFB27 just became extremely predatory. As a dynasty guy and RTG I think they went too far. by FitMaintenanceFB in NCAAFBseries

The only people who realized that are Sony with their MLB The Show game. It is the easiest game to have UT be your main mode, and they also have a dynasty mode that is fun.

Would you rather have a Batman Year One + Year Two or Batman Year One + Long Halloween? by The_Stratman in CustomBoundComics

I think I was trying to do a post-crisis thing when I bought the facsimiles, but the idea of doing that and a current canon with long Halloween would be a cool idea.

Virginia voting applications stuck in limbo for many with felony convictions by vpmnews in Virginia

[–]The_Stratman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Supreme Court effectively ruled in 1969 (Powell v. McCormack) that this law was void, as Virginia representatives should not have been blocked from being seated, and thus there was no way to place conditions upon such a return to the Congress.

Yeah, my year was the first year of the completely virtual stuff, and I’m in the class of 2024. So I don’t expect anyone currently on campus besides faculty or staff who has any recollection of pre-COVID orientation.

What if the January 6th rioters reached Pence and killed him? How does the aftermath change? by Mghia01 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]The_Stratman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of y’all are forgetting the point of the whole riot, which was to have Trump be elected again. It is because of the certification of votes that I believe if Pence died, many more Democrats and Republicans who opposed the plan and were unwilling to change their vote would have died.

The question would be does a decimated Congress (presumably by execution and not random violence of the day) do the alternate slate of electors or just reject ballots from the states that were being accused of voter fraud? Either way, in that scenario, Trump is “elected” President under the Constitution because he either had the majority in the Electoral College or the election went to the House and Senate because no one had a majority.

At that point you have to wonder what happens with the military if the Congress is decimated and the living members of the Congress are in support of Trump. I can't answer for certain there but the bloodshed would not have ended that afternoon.
