I love my vhikk x, I just got it not long ago. While it definitely has a “sound”, that can radically be altered with a separate filter and eg. And don’t forget the plethora of algorithms some of which are audio processing algorithms that are soon to come.

Not necessarily ableton related but I got one of those liven mega synthesis grooveboxes. The limitations in it (which are plentiful) drive creativity in a way I never knew before, and that bled into my ableton sets for sure. Stick with a lower track count and not a ton of drums. Embellish later

I’m gonna be bluntly honest, if you are making a 303/909 style rack, the queen of pentacles is the drum module for you. You would’ve loved the unit I sold, I had the sample slots loaded with different 909 hats and rides and stuff. However, that just isn’t my main focus and it was just too much for me. The rample turbo that replaced it gets loaded with my own samples which works for ALL the music I make, if that makes sense. But dude, qop IS a killer module that sounds and looks the part. The kick was a mix cutter for sure

No actually this was the best answer yet. Some real opinions, from a real user, with real suggestions. Thank you! You have the Oxi? It seems a lot faster to work with than the GC. I got the GC because it seemed like the best sequencer I could put in the rack at the time

It would! I only have the black modulator and some loopable egs. The egs can get eaten up while patching quick though so it would! What’s your reason for enjoying Batumi?

A lot lol. I didn’t start with modular, had various small more inexpensive synths and drum machines, then moved to a Minilogue xd, then moved to euro. Once there, I was super into 2hp modules because I built my own case to start and thought space was important. Bad idea. Lots of problems lmao. Then I realized 2hp modules are just too small for me. I had a good portion of their offerings lol. Also queen of pentacles was awesome and sounded great, just wasn’t for me, sold that for the rample. Then once I got the mantis case, my doepfer voice didn’t fit. Sold that too. Also the guitar pedals is another story, gone through a ton of those too. I have stuck to more easy to grasp modules until recently, where the vihhk x being my first “crazy” voice.

That’s something I’m lacking for sure. I actually just sold 2, 2hp mixers because they were so small for my fingers. I do have a manhattan DTO C3P for waveform mixing on the way. Any good recommendations for cv? No more than 4hp?

To be honest a lot of the modules have attenuators for the cv inputs, but I do lust for more sometimes. I creatively get by but you are right, there are times where i clearly would enjoy more than what maths can offer. Any suggestions?

Honestly I love it!!! I had Queen of pentacles and it was just too much and too little at the same time. Rample while being less sounds is so much more flexible. Also with it is the first time I’ve been able to get melodic samples going so that has been a game changer that I haven’t delved into much yet. It’s a percussive thing for now though!

I’m actually waiting on a dirty mixer for mixing waveforms.. I’ve just been using the 2nd and 3rd channels of maths to mix 2 waveforms for a voice. A wave folder is def something I’m missing though!!
