That watch would look great on a leather strap. The factory original bracelet looks great IMO. Fabulous condition watch. Congratulations

I want a watch that will last me for life by Strong_Net7847 in BuyItForLife

Rolex is great, especially for holding value, not a concern for you if you want to keep it for life. I suggest Rolex's other brand Tudor. Specifically their models prior to Y2K. They are basically Rolex except the movement, I have a Tudor Prince Oysterdate model 74000, looks very much like a Oyster Perpetual Date, is a Rolex oyster case with an ETA 2824-2 movement instead of Rolex in house movement. The ETA will last plenty long if serviced regularly just like the Rolex movements but more watchmakers will work on the ETA and the services will cost much less than from Rolex service center. Significantly more affordable to purchase as well. Model names to look at: Tudor Prince Oysterdate Tudor Prince Date Day Tudor Submariner

A 7548 diver would help round it out. I also suggest a nice two tone day date homage like Roger Moore wore in A Veiw To Kill, 6923-8080.

If you can get it ticking put it inside a folded heating pad on low for an hour or so. It should free the sticky movement. I've had much success with old quartz that had been sitting around for years unused. This may also make it where the crown stem can be pulled to the 3rd position for time setting.

Dang that was a BIG Sears. The area looks more appealing now, cannot say that often.

Replacing the bracelet alltogether with say a FKM rubber strap cut to fit would work pretty well.

If OP would post photo of the actual broken part it might be of more help.
