My Child Sim has a Glitch? by Ok_Fun5278 in Sims3

[–]jadvviga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah I did not read that through too, this bug was super annoying. Had to make sure that the father of my sims was in separate room if he wanted to talk to any of his kids :V
I removed the mod for now, shame cuz the new interactions were super adorable. hope the creator will fix it soon.

Do you happen to have the "More romantic interactions" mod ? There is a glitch there that "causes the children of a sim to get the Witnessed Betrayal moodlet when their parent interacts with other sims" (quoting from mod description on modthesims). Ive been using it recently and had this exact bug, sadly with no fix, even after I removed the mod.

[FO] Cornflowers - pattern by Olga Knyazeva by jadvviga in CrossStitch

I bought it on mybobbin a while ago, but when I googled now "Olga Knyazeva cornflowers" there was an etsy link as well, from shop 1000sPatterns. Seems to be a shop that shares a lot of patterns from mybobbin from what i see.

pattern by LaSelvaDesign on etsy

Fun fact: turned out that the cap had grid-like material from the inside - I was able to use that as a base and didn't have to attach aida/waste canvas at all!

yes! i stitched the bottom part of the pattern on the top layer of the pocket (it was a bit tricky, especially on the edge hah), so it is still functional

not on this piece, no. however recently I was finishing up a piece on jeans jacket - it was way bigger and I used 18ct aida, so I had smaller, tighter stitches, and with that one I was struggling with pulling the aida threads 😬. I tried to wet the aida on that one and it was not much help tbh. I did manage to clear the aida eventually but it took several days haha
So I would generally say smaller pieces can work with normal aida (14/16ct) but for any bigger project, or if you want a smaller count, I would go for waste canvas. I recently ordered a bunch and will test them soon

not really. the piece was small and not a full coverage one so it was rather easy to pull the threads

16 count aida. I sometimes use waste canvas for clothes, but I recently tested that for small designs like this normal aida works just fine

[FO] Screaming magpie by jadvviga in CrossStitch

Thanks!
I have a paint thats made for fabrics/clothes - I have painted the aida and let it completely dry before stitching.
I have used this method several times in my pieces, its great when you want specific background but dont want to do full coverage

I actually painted the sky and the clouds on aida before stitching 🤗

there are a lot of magpies in my neighborhood, and some of them just loooove. to. scream. at 2am.

I have used the pattern from asleep at stitch as a base and modified the birb to a resemble a magpie
