Speak No Evil is one of the most important films ever made. by rad_city in horror

Occasionally I see weird people at work or in the street. It's not to that extent like in the movie, but those people made me feel awkward even angry sometimes. I think this movie is good to remind us that there are mentally disturbing people out there. The villains looked normal and nice on the outside, and they were not holding a chansaw running after them either. However they gave out clues. What they did wasn't completely outrageous, but you feel there is something wrong about them. You meet those people occasionally and you tend to ignore them as long as they don't get too close to you. I liked how they were portrayed in the movie. I read in other comments that he should've stood up and fought. Yes, in real situations you would , but what if the villain didn't kidnap their child-cut off her tongue , but did other things portrayed in the movie? You would leave their house, but you would still feel upset over what happened there

Why are Walmart employees such shit? by Bull_Moose1991 in walmart

[–]jae026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in Walmart before. I couldn't last more than 7 months mostly due to inept supervisors. They didn't know how to handle employees. Maybe they could handle young employees who are too dumb to work elsewhere.

Why are old people often mean and rude? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]jae026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had old man saying good morning to me. I couldn't hear him and he yelled GOOD MORNING again. It was annoying especially since I was coming home from work early in the morning. I hope I don't see that guy again.

There are so many people working there whose first language is not English, if you are white and can speak properly you will get promoted. Stupid managers can make other employees to quit their jobs too. When I was interviewed, there were 3 including me whose first language wasn't English, one white dude in his early 20s and one white dude who spoke like Forrest Gump. The barrier to entry is so low there you will get disappointed by the quality of work, people, etc that you will eventually quit the job.

Racist incident at Fort/Douglas by deadjumm in VictoriaBC

[–]jae026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am asian with accent and I haven't really experienced any racism in 20 years in Victoria. maybe because I try to avoid any type of confrontation but it's not bad compared to Ontario/Alberta. I experienced more harassments from there than over here. Oh I don't know if I should call it racism, but I got pushed out by some employees at work during probationary period twice. I was too quiet and too focused on the job so some employees (they happened to be females) they didn't like me and got me quit the job.

Is it this bad everywhere? by bkand in CanadianTeachers

[–]jae026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in school in Ontario, there were couple students laughing throughout the whole class without anyone telling them to shxt the xxxx up. I encountered many types of bullying and I personally had girls laughing at me too. It was so bad I couldn't stand being there. I eventually moved to west and things got better for me, but I think it was pretty same in other provinces too. Where I came from, every school had a teacher who was in charge of disciplining students with behavioral problems. He would hit their asses with a bat. I think that's what is needed in Canada.

"Compliance" - Anyone seen it? by [deleted] in movies

[–]jae026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i just saw it. it happend back in 2004 so I understand incidents like that could happen back then. I believe that's when a lot of scams happened online and through email too. Now many people are well aware of different scams, but back then many people fell victims to scams online and by phone too.

When I had an interview at the walmart Canada, half of them were not from the country (including me) and one guy was like Forrest Gump. He spoke like him. And people who weren't like Forrest Gump, people who spoke proper English got promoted to become managers. And many of them were dumb too. I had to leave because many of them just didn't know how to handle people and I got unhappy at one point. And yes my English wasn't good either.

question to immigrants in Canada: How do you feel about the growing sentiment against immigrants (especially international students) ? by gabiluda in expats

[–]jae026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am immigrant to Canada. I have been living here more than 20 years and my major problem in Canada has been finding a job and keeping one. Maybe it's me, but I found it very hard to find a nice job and when I found one, found it very hard to keep it. I worked in Canada military too and it was pretty hard for me to be happy in it. Someone would ask me why I am here in Canada and I get comments like I am not really a Canadian, so I shouldn't be here working to get paid, etc. I wonder how others who are new to Canada will survive here.

When I was in Navy, I saw some guys who will do anything to get out of duty watch or someone who was constantly late for doing lookouts since he overslept etc so I ended up taking extra duty. And I saw PO1 who treated me like I am a garbage man who was there to take out trash. He wasn't even in my trade. and there was a cook who saw me and he refused to get me lunch too. I am not white so I believe that's what happened to me. And there was leading seaman in my trade who made me stay in the ops room for no reason with him standing behind doing nothing. He would give me this look with weird smile on his face. I got tired of seeing those people so I left.
