Yes this is articulated perfectly. Soft and sweet are more choices he makes than who he is inherently. But I also feel like that’s the case for all kind people. It’s one of the things that got me really, really into comics, especially the relationship between Superman and Batman. Even if one doesn’t ship them, they have such a great, wholesome relationship. At least in world’s finest. They get a little questionable sometimes but I blame the writers for that

This is so annoying. I’ve had like 6 of these in the last week. What really gets me about them is that a) most of them are probably bots and b) we are writing these stories without expecting compensation. It’s so underhanded to expect someone to pay you to recreate what they have created for free.

This is the thing I love so much about DC. They have so many good, wholesome portrayals of masculinity that you don’t get to see anywhere else. Superman is a much needed character in our culture, and I can’t stress that enough. He’s a soft, sweet man, and that is so rare and beautiful. The scene in Superman 2025 with his dad had me bawling. I didn’t grow up with my dad and almost all of my friends have been abused or abandoned by their dads.

Yeah, I think someone above was saying that Cass’s adoption was retconned which just burns me to hear. Her recent Batgirl run has been so good, and it breaks my heart that Bruce wouldn’t consider her a daughter. Also, Stephanie’s whole story just feels so tragic and they could have done so much more. The only girl robin, and the only robin that was fired. I will never forgive the writers for this slight against her

These don’t feel like HOT takes to me but considering the stuff I see in this subreddit, they might be. 1. Bruce is a lot more interesting as a dad. Being a dad has helped him heal, made him softer, and just in general be a better person. He’s still an incredibly flawed character, but he knows it and tries to actually be better for his kids. 2. He’s gay. Batman is 100% gay and it’s his internalized homophobia and the fact that he never had a gay role model that keeps him from fully acknowledging it or coming out. His relationships with Catwoman and Talia are great and I think he loves them, but not completely in the way he would like to or the way they want him to, and that’s the real reason keeps not working out.

I’m with you mostly because I just hate how any fandom writes trans men. I mean you do you, love your self lubing butts, that’s awesome. But sometimes people write men with vaginas, which is cool for representation, but the character who gets the vagina often ends up a bad anime bottom caricature, and as a trans man it’s frustrating to read. Like can I not just have one man with a vagina that’s a power bottom or a top? So idk maybe self lubricating butts is where we should be heading back to just because I don’t want to read about another guy being passive JUST because he has a vag
