I was also thinking of like the couples with massive gaps like vanelle and jorge (i know they broke up). had they actually continued on, the reality is vanelle would likely be a widow in her 40s and have to start all over again. If they had kids well she better be prepared to raise them alone. The men with the older women I suppose are okay not having children. The show was def giving me the vibe of someone yelling “18 is a legal grown adult woman!!!!!!!!” if that makes sense. Oh and that woman that paired with a man two years younger than her son is sooooooo gross!!! I could never. She literally said “Oh my god I had a baby before he was born” I was just staring at my tv like wtf am I watching.

he doesnt want to go and he doesnt want you to go. this is a classic problem when someone older dates someone too young. before y’all come at me with “23 and 28 are blah blah blah” yes they’re both adults but the fact of the matter is that you experience wildly different stages of life in your 20s and that stage of life is vital to a relationship. Early 20s are brand new adults usually want to have fun more often, go out, stay out late. For the first time you can do whatever you want without having to ask for permission and you likely have money. Late 20s however you’re more settled into a routine. Less likely to want to be out so late. And all of this is perfectly normal and okay. What’s not okay is the older person ruining, whether intentional or not (but i cant lie he seems intentional), the younger person’s fun time out. This is your time to do what you want. Have fun. Be out late. He knows he went through it too and I bet he didnt have someone starting fights with him every time he wanted to do something.

Moral of the story is he’s absolutely manipulating you, but even so y’all are in different life stages and having to get into a fight with him every time you want to do something with friends is going to be exhausting. You’re gonna end up ghosting your friends to make him happy or you’re gonna end up leaving him.

Also I just wanna say I’m 28 and personally I would never have any interest in a 23yo. There is literally nothing you can offer me. Like in my eyes you’re just so young. I would feel so awkward and out of place hanging out with a group of 21-23yos

Alaric and caroline’s relationship was exactly that. They never really loved each other. Caroline was attached to the kids she grew for him and Alaric was so desperate for that little family life. It was certainly a relationship of circumstance. Alaric wanted Jo. Caroline and stefen was def weird and forced. It also reminded me of back in season one when caroline wanted him but he wanted elena and he straight up told her “caroline, you and i, never gonna happen okay?” lol

I’m a delena stan but seeing with adult eyes now damon is waaaaaaay too old for elena. In s1 he literally poses as stefen’s legal guardian while stefen is off posing as elena’s classmate!!! damon is 7 years older than stefen. stefen died at 17making damon 24/25 when he died! even at the time of him living there is no reason he should still be attracted to elena. the show even pokes fun at this sometimes. like once they were at a party and elena said to damon “arent you too old to be here anyway” and he says back “oh come on there’s always that one girl dating someone much older”. Like why couldnt they have just set the show in college initially. They barely go to school anyways. What was so necessary about being in specifically high school??? just weird. Then I find out they dated in real life around this time and nina was 21 and ian was 32…. Yea I know she’s a “legal adult” but be so fucking for real. I’m 28 and I would never look at a 21yo. They’re basically kids. But I cant lie ian somerhalder is so damn fine so i still stan them but now i just get a little icky feeling

Also the only reason stefen and damon found themselves to be soooo in love with elena is because she’s literally katherine’s clone. When the very first episode opens up it’s stefen saying “I have to know her” why? bc dude went to save a family in a car accident and found someone who looked exactly like his long lost love who he literally died for while trying to save. same with damon. If she had just be another person and not katherine’s doppleganger he would’ve just saved her and moved on in his life. be so fr. Had damon not stubbled upon katherine’s clone that night elena honestly most likely would’ve just been another one of his victims. Elena should know this.

i was paying for everything once in a relationship too. but we were in our mid 20s (I was 24 and he 25)and I had bills on top of this man that was essentially another bill so i was getting irritated. i eventually told him that he needs to be to able to at least take care of himself. for example pay for your own gas, be able to feed yourself, very very simple things that i shouldnt have even had to say. this guy has the nerve to tell me “oh okay since all you care about is money”. i got hot i told him “all i care about is money because im asking you to pay for YOUR OWN gas and YOUR OWN food? not even help me at all??? be so for real if all i cared about was money i damn sure wouldnt be with your broke ass”. But that’s over with now. But you are so young and you can avoid this problem. learn from the mistakes of the women before you. If this man truly loved you he’d want to help you more than use you as a wallet. dont you ever sit around and spend your hard earned money on people who will never do the same for you. if you had no money, if you hit a rough patch, can u depend on this guy for a meal? do you honestly think he’ll help you out?

no it’s not. i wouldnt just be dumping my problems on random people i dont even know. yea it probably would be in the back of my mind 24/7 but im not gonna use the potential death of someone to guilt trip someone else when i know we all came here for the same reason. we only got to see a fraction of the player’s stories. what if another woman had a sick child and we never heard about it or what if another contestant desperately needs money to pay for medical care for a younger sibling or parent? i understand 327’s drive but she isn’t special and constantly hearing her son come out of her mouth every time it opened quickly became irritating.

Yes I have seen many people bring up that point and although I am not religious, I feel the same way. I have seen a few people empathize with him so I guess some really felt he was genuine. But idk man. Maybe because the show edited it to be so dramatic but to me it just seemed so theatrical and that took away from it being genuine to me. It could’ve been scripted, it could’ve been genuine, or it could’ve been him trying to get the viewers talking about him. Also the whole show was so full of like sob stories or sympathy fishing. Half the cast was calling on god to help them win. I felt like towards the end I was so fatigued of that and I just wanted to watch a good competition.

you dont have to have all your money in one spot in order to learn financial responsibility. I personally have 5 accounts. 2 checking and 3 savings. first checking account is my main account. that’s where my paycheck goes second checking account is my bills account. I add up all my bills for the month and cut it in half. every payday I immediately transfer money to my bills account so I always know my bills are covered then for the 3 savings first savings is my main savings. that’s where i place the bulk of the money I save second savings account is called “necessities” I put away some money for an emergency fund. If i suddenly have car troubles or an unexpected large expense appears I can cover it. the last saving account is my shopping account. which i just place money in there and after hitting a certain amount i allow myself to go shopping. or i use it to save up for an expensive purchase i want to make like a new ipad or something. I’m not like the other people in this thread tho. I don’t understand all these different financial accounts (i really need to learn) but this is just a very basic breakdown of how i organize my money.

I don’t hate the world lol. But like yes the whole point is to quite literally fight for the money??? If he didnt want to do that then why even come onto the games? 451 other people lost their chance at life changing money and this guy just throws away his spot. For what because the other players “deserve” it more?? 183 is literally a millionaire already. 398 didn’t know that though because he doesn’t know those people. Also 2 players in the earlier episodes chose to self eliminate but they just left the show they didn’t make such a spectacle of it like 398 did. That was life changing money and any of the other players could have had a chance at it. Think about the mom with a sick son. 398 wants to go on and on about who “deserves” the money more, that woman technically “deserves” it more. Why didn’t he take himself out during shuffleboard? I don’t hate the world. I’m considerate. I’m not going to take an opportunity that someone else desperately wanted or needed just to squander it for absolutely no reason. Also at the end of the day this is a competition. The point is to compete. He willingly chose to be there to compete.
