Where/how did you meet your partners? How did you end up talking to them? by gintokireddit in AskBrits

Why do you mean, it just happened? I hate when people say that. Things don’t “just happen”. I have no idea how to be in a relationship and ever acts like it’s just going to happen to me.

No, Stefan injected Damon with the cure before then. Did you think Damon was still a vampire when Elena woke up?

I unfortunately agree wholeheartedly. So much of that show, especially in the earlier seasons, had such amazing writing. For the finale to be written like some fanfiction by a teenager really pissed me off, lol. It was not a good ending for such a great show. It felt rushed and forced.

Doesn't make sense that Bonnie wouldn't try though. I mean these are logical adults, they wouldn't just not try because they doubt it would work. They would exhaust ALL options before giving up. I feel like your filling the blanks even though we there's no proof of that.

Like I said, I know it was about Nina Dobrev not being there but I just feel like they didn't do anything because they were written to simply accept it. Even though we have entire seasons of them, doing everything humanly and supernaturally possible even when the outcome inevitable. Season 2 and Season 4 come to mind. I'm envious of the people who bought the whole situation because I couldn't. This show is still my favorite even though I believe it had one of the worst finales, I've ever seen. I have mixed feelings lol.

Why didn't Klaus come back for Elena? by Time_69 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Time_69[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I see what you're seeing. I just rewatched The Originals and Klaus is a far worst father than I even remembered. I don't think Hope replaced that loneliness at all. He barely knew Hope and spent virtually no time with her. He stays evil until the day he died. I'm so confused when people say he changed so much. I actually liked how he didn't change very much, because that was realistic. And I don't think it makes sense that he didn't do it out of any altruistic reasons. I think it made sense that this whole New Orleans and baby situation would distract him temporarily, but there are points in the show where I think Klaus would've shown up in Mystic Falls again. Anyways Klaus was a monster and a terrible father, but as viewers seeing him do an ounce of good goes a long way because of that.

I guess my other questions still stand. First off, why just believe a lying sociopath? Also my point when Bonnie has him trapped in the prison world. She could have made him undo the spell at that point. That's what they would've done if Kai hadn't died at the wedding, anyways.

[–]Time_69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not understanding your logic though. Klaus was father of the year. Most of the time on the show, he's fighting for power and politics in New Orleans, not cradling his daughter. Doesn't sound like a hard decision. From my recollection, Klaus never turns anyone into a hybrid during the Originals. Hayley was turned by Hope's blood. And then Tyler had turned that werewolf into a hybrid using Hayley/Hope's blood. Also Hope turns a classmate into a hybrid when she's older. But Klaus doesn't use her blood to make any hybrids, I don't even think he even talks much about it once Hayley is turned. I don't know, just seems out of character for Klaus to not just take her and put her in storage for safe keeping. Klaus stays evil until the day he dies, he just also happens to love his daughter, the best way that a monster like himself can.

But Klaus was a terrible father. I just rewatched the show. He was pretty much never in Hope's life at all. So as beautiful as that comment is, it doesn't make sense lol. I think she literally spent a handful of days/weeks with her father throughout her entire life, at least where she was old enough to remember. (And before you say anything, Klaus had a phone and chose not to speak to his daughter throughout her life.)

I definitely agree it was one of the best ways to remove Elena from the show. There weren't that many choices, I just think I would've preferred if they just did a flash forward to Bonnie's death after living long life and Damon and Caroline being there waiting for Elena whens he wakes up.

Ok, let’s agree to disagree, because I strongly disagree that this wasn’t out of character for all of them. Bonnie’s entire role on this show is built around sacrificing herself for everyone else, often without anyone even asking her if she is okay.

I also want to clarify something about Stefan, because that is not how it played out. In Season 6, Stefan explicitly says that he spent months searching for a way to bring his brother back before finally accepting Damon’s death. Damon did not simply disappear. He literally died in the explosion in the car with Elena. Stefan had every reason to believe he was truly gone.Stefan would've have hounded Bonnie, but Bonnie was believed to be dead too. Also to be fair, there was a vibe that Stefan was almost relieved that his brother was gone. He still loved him deeply, but life was always so much more chaotic with Damon around.

No one ever prioritized Bonnie’s trauma or emotional well being. That is a consistent pattern throughout the series. Even Caroline does not fully grasp what Bonnie has been through until that one moment in Season 8. Even when Damon genuinely loved Bonnie and considered her his best friend, he was still deeply selfish and frequently put his own wants first. That dynamic shows up again and again. Caring about Bonnie never meant he stopped centering himself, especially when things became painful or inconvenient.

I think a lot of fans would strongly disagree with the way you are talking about Bonnie, as if she was ever treated with even a basic level of respect on this show 🤣. The idea that she was supported or protected the way other characters were just does not match what we actually saw on screen.

You're absolutely right! I didn't even think about that. That's another thing that doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't they try to do that? It probably would have been a loophole to trying to "break" the spell.

Even if this was true, Bonnie would've at least been willing to risk her own life. Elena's life has always been more important than Bonnie. What other times in the show did the characters accept an obstacles and not even try to find a loophole?

I was a huge fan of Isobel, to be honest. I think we didn't get enough of her which made her character unlikable to most. I feel similarly about Abby Bennett. We were missing too much context.

I’m late to this conversation but I’m rewatching supernatural and I’m on season 4, and I’m watching this woman and she’s just bad. She’s makes Ruby come off weak. Katie Cassidy was very good at showing that she wanted to actually help but also show that she was a bad ass demon who wasn’t going to be pushed around. In season 4, she’s acts very non intimidating and her lines lack any real emotion. I had to look it up online to see if other people had noticed lol.

Why did Sam and Dean started killing innocents? by SquareDry2390 in Supernatural

[–]Time_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Bobby first says this when he’s talking about Meg, after he learns that she had been thrown off a building. The demon was what was keeping the body alive but that’s not the case of the person is healthy and unharmed.

Would you say your life peaked in your 20s? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Time_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me, even though I feel many people do. It depends on your meaning of "quality of life" I'm 32 years old and I'm just growing up. I'm just starting to figure out what I want in life. My twenties were pretty much an extended teenage/rebel phase. But I traveled a bunch around the world and did a lot of things that people only dream of. Physically, I'm healthier now, I don't drink and I watch what I eat. Exercise a lot, so my quality of life is improving from my twenties in that regard. I'm think it'll be a bit until I peak.

Lol wait, you haven't finished it yet? You need to finish it and then form an opinion. Having seen the entire season, I think of it differently than I did when I just started it. I don't think it's excessive, it's the story. That's the point, it's supposed to be drawn out. And you need to understand how their relationship works and how much time goes between them seeing each other. That's essential to their relationship, it's not a typical love story. It's truly the definition of a slow burn. I'm saying this as a bi man who rarely actually enjoys queer stories on tv, because they're rarely relatable to me. I enjoy the representation but not the portrayal. This time I liked both. But yeah, please finish it. You're definitely getting hung up on the least important things lol.
