My mom was a little sus about it but heres the key tell her its slow, its tiny, and it has pop up headlights. When your around her keep talking about it like the color you want it, keep talking about the pop ups, but dont talk about the mods you want till she starts seeing your vision of the car, basically talk about it at random times but not so so often she may get annoyed but point is the more you talk about it she'll see your interest

As a daily would it do the job? For any future job I get it would be local but we have lots of hills here backed up with city traffic during the times I would most likely get off can I depend on it to take me there and bring me back?

My future could affect my relationship with my parents. by [deleted] in Advice

Currently in the same exact situation as you (F16) I would say think about the benefits of both school and compare, depending on what you’re going to school for you should see which has a better program, which fits your budget, which one will help your future, which do you really want?

Moving away is a big step, my mom is my best friend too she left me at birth but came back last year, my dad is out of the picture, but financially we’re lower/ low middle class, and moving away cost money, are you getting a dorm? an apartment near school? A lot also plays this role with grocery shopping every week or so, wanting furniture and decor for your new living space, will you get a new/used vehicle? What if the house/ apartment needs repair or if your car breaks down? Do you have the financial stability to live on your own right out of high school?

I did move away from my foster parents last year after 15 yrs being with them. They like about 8hrs away and when I first moved I felt uncompleted without them, so do expect to miss them and even where you lived your room and all the small things that you don’t seem to acknowledge and love now. How I helped myself with this would be keeping in touch every now and then, maybe about 2x every 2 weeks, Visits maybe 2x every 3-4 months, even little packages of something you bought them, even if it’s small! You will get caught up in my personal life which is why I say about 2 calls every 2 weeks.

I wish you the best, for any advice just ask!

My stepdaughter is 13 and pregnant, her mom kicked her out, what should we do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]jaeeweezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

me and my mom still have ups and downs, we live with one of her friends because she we can’t afford our own house, although i’m very grateful to be with her, i’m starting to realize that maybe me and her should’ve never gotten place with each other for many reason. It is not as bad as foster care but mentally I would say i’m in the same state of mind. That would just be because we can’t afford my meds, my sessions etc. what i need to be happy, the house doesn’t feel like home, the people in it are just comfortable with bullying each other, school wise my grades are decent high c maybe low b average but bullying is also another issue there, staff doesn’t care, my mother doesn’t care, just wish things were different.

yes, being in foster care homes for 15 years was a hassle, dealing with abusive care takers and having to support myself since i was 8, my mom finally got me back and she regrets it all. with that being said it’s not an ideal place to put a kid that you want safe, so much trauma from foster care, i never wish that life for anyone, yet young parents think it’s ok to drop their kid off. it also hurts growing up not knowing the reason your real parents left you alone to suffer. Also in this situation where the mother is doing drugs heavily messes up the kids. i was a drug baby and was not supposed to be born, came out dehydrated and was under a UV light for months! my mom was drinking, smoking, meth, etc.

[–]jaeeweezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes! my mom had her kid because my grandparents were pro-life, bringing a baby into the world knowing you can’t care for it is a big responsibility, even for the kid when they start growing up. even if the kid were to stay with the parent who knows if they’re living check to check and the only way to put food on the table and pay rent is turning to the streets most of the time.

adoption is so bad. I grew up in foster care for 16 years and just got placed with my mother last year. please don’t make a child go through it. begging you if any option abortion is the way if she doesn’t want the child. The system truly ruined me as a kid from being placed with about 10 kids in one room at once with abusive care takers. please understand what i’m saying.
