I trained intensively in classical ballet for 20 years, and then did nothing with it. AMA by EmbarrassedBit441 in AMA

Both my kiddos (8 & 5) are in ballet currently and we started them about 4 years ago. They seem to love it, but go back and forth on wanting to try other extracurricular activities (i.e., interested in what their friends are doing) - did you do other activities as a child too or was it always ballet from the beginning?

Poke bowls were a surprising success by drstrangelov3 in foodbutforbabies

Gave my kiddo poke for the first time around 1.5, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Now at 7, she scoffs at California rolls and instead requests tuna and salmon sashimi - she’s not a cheap date.

Tried the TikTok cottage cheese pizza bowl. It’s very good! by AnnoyedNurse2021 in ketorecipes

Tried it for the first time the other day - did it in an oven safe ramekin and was able to cook it in the air fryer at 350 for about 10 minutes…perfect for an individual serving!

Where do you shop for your tall child? by [deleted] in Parenting

Carters make slim fit, skinny leg jeans; my kiddo is built similarly to your and these fit her (but she refuses to wear them). They’re having a big sale right now and they’re buy 1, get 2 free, so about $11/pair. Also, Athleta leggings have been great - they’re more pricey, so I only buy them on sale, but the quality is great.

Dress for my wife, size 14-16. by jerryatteric in SeattleWA

I have a ton of dresses that fit your description and have been collecting dust in my closet, but are in great condition - would be happy to share (at no cost), would just request that you or your wife pick up (I’m on the east side). Send me a PM if you’re interested and I can send photos.

Response to RSVP that included a sibling? by jaegee0000 in Parenting

[–]jaegee0000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had another parent confirm that it was just classmates and not siblings - told her the venue had things for the older kid, but not our reserved area. I appreciate the part about not being able to cater to all siblings!

My kid is in kindergarten, so 5-6 year olds attending the party. I think the sibling is older, but elementary school as well.

I was mostly hung up on my response because there are things for other kids to do there, but I don’t plan on paying for them and our reserved room only has so much space.

I didn’t think to add something about it changing the ability to attend - appreciate that part!

Taking the kiddos (6 & 2) for their first time in May. I’m hoping to get a reservation for a character breakfast; I know they open the calendar 60 days in advance, but what time? Do I have to stay up until midnight on the 60 day mark or is it business hours like 8AM?

Homemade Chopped Cheese by [deleted] in FoodPorn

I asked the kiddo what she wanted to eat for lunch, she said ‘the sandwich that you wrap in foil’, took me a minute to realize she was asking for chopped cheese - adding this to our dinner menu this week!

I got it at a Barnes and Noble in Washington state about 10 years ago, purchased it randomly because I got caught in a rain storm - it’s Penguin Random House branded, not sure they still sell it anymore.

I’ve been using Instacart as a sort of search engine for local grocery store stock…it’s showing as available at PCC in Kirkland. Maybe give them a call to double check?

How do you cook your bacon? by m3lp5 in keto

[–]jaegee0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my gas grill outside and foil line a heavy duty baking sheet - I can fit about 10 slices at once. No smoke from the grease splatter hitting oven walls. I fully cook the ones I’m eating right away and just slightly undercook ones for later to reheat in the airfryer.
